And it's 9 to 8

Well they are playing to some unknown number (no audio at work)....more ugliness ahead

Continuous snooker references, calling games 'frames' gets OLD fast. They couldn't find a decent POOL commentator?? Bad. Oh yeah, 'the eye of the tiger' has been said more than in the 80's song of the same name.

he's using english 8-ball vocabulary, he's a former english 8-ball "pro" apparently. what really gets me is the exaggerated drama, but i have to admit that at this point it is kind of funny.

The commentary sounds like state sponsored motivation. Do it for the game. Live and Die for the game.

Wiktor is one hell of of player…but his sulkiness holds him back a wee bit.
Ameer gave good account of himself….we‘ll be seeing more of him.

They seem to not be doing the hill-hill extension thing any more. Race to 9 last 64, race to 11 last 32. Or am I confused?

Here's the bracket for the knockout:

Looks like the goofy commentator's name is Paul Mackeowan, age 57 from England. He played in all 4 of the Stage 1 rounds, winning 2 matches in each of the first two and then losing his first match in the 3rd and 4th Chance rounds.

The commentator didn’t even know when the match was over. Tournament play should be crystal clear what the goalpost is.

Damn, after reading this, I feel like I gotta watch just for the value-bin level commentary. Sid Waddell is still the worst of all time but I absolutely loved his calls. So awful it was great, like "The Room".

Thanks to iPhone voice translator. i was able to pick up this broadcasting gem.

The golden break. I don’t know who did that one, who designed the golden break, but I know who designed the silver break and that’s me because I’m a great believer in making the difference in 9ball.

We’ve seen the emotional side we’ve seen the drama side they call it lady luck, I call it good fortune and misfortune and you make your own luck in this game its you who played the shot not your opponent.

The harder you train the luckier you get it’s always the same it’s like the Formula One cars they go around and around and they run out of petrol just gotta make sure you’ve got enough fuel in the tank to get through this match.”

The zolinski match was 11-11 when I tuned in. Then 12-12. Then they lagged. Zolonski won the lag, broke and ran out. He was the match winner 13-12.
So the best of 21 turned into a best of 25. On the chart it is scored as 11-10 like the mistake noticed earlier. I can't stand it. The guys doing the scoring (in Poland) seem to generally be on top of things so I suspect they didn't find out about the bizarre hill-hill crap until too late to modify their software to handle any random match length. Sigh.
