The Shot I Keep Not Seeing

Dear Gentle Readers,

Had some nefarious medico administered truth serum to me, the header would have read: One of a Multitude of Shots I Never See.

But it’s this one I saw yesterday on Lenny’s excellent Arizona One-Pocket State Championship stream.

Actually I saw the shot executed in two different matches by Mitch Ellerman. Sad to say, it surprised me just as much the second time.

Here it is. Mitch had the lower right hand corner pocket. He had a potential bank off the far short rail. I was checking to see if he could beat the kiss when … wham!

He sent the object ball to the side rail instead, a three cushion bank shot that avoided that kiss and left the cue ball in a better position.

Awe and forgetfulness are my life,

Sunny

PS Oh would some Power the giftee gie us … I would blend Bernie’s um, stately pace of play with Lenny’s uptempo game.

Sunnyone, I'm glad you enjoy one-pocket.
Unlike many on AZ, I think it's a great spectator game....
...no paint-by-numbers thinking.

In the action days, one-pocket got the most spectators and the most side action.
If I walk into a pool hall, the first game I'll watch is the one-hole game....
...it's like strolling through a park and seeing a chess game....gotta watch....
...'cause you see moves

Your "not seeing" a shot that you saw twice, has me somewhat confused?
Per chance you meant "I have failed to see the opportunity to execute the shot in that manner. It was a well executed shot of unforeseen intrinsic value".
