the story i promised

hello Grady; stick kytle here, I remember the game very well as i was there for most of it , i came into the bar and a freind of mine ask stick who do you like in that game, i said i will take the proffesor, he said who i had to point you out, i won a little that night, the town is my home town of toccoa ga it is in northeast ga , the bar was the sportsman club two bar tables. the owner calvine black. we had some good games there, gene the machine, shannon dalton. horace harper, danny greer,jim jennings,randy burris,and of course grady.good story grady, i rember more of you that i will talk later STICK:) :) :) :) :)

BTW.....all your posts should be filed away here on AZ right people? so you can just come here and copy them all to your home computer and write a book, or better yet.....I'd love to hear all these stories in your own voice on a CD.....THAT would be cool!

Great stuff, Grady. One terrific player who has not had much written about him is "Rags" Fitzpatrick; any war stories on him would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your invaluable contributions.

The "turkey shoot" you refer to was a genuine rifle shooting turkey shoot or the one where the locals take you to another bar to beat all of the turkeys there?????

Turkey shoots were pretty popular in the south a few yrs back. What happens is...

They place targets..(anywhere from 5-20 or so) about 30 or so yards away. Everybody involved lines up across from the targets with their shotguns...then everyone shoots on command. The target with the most buckshot holes inside the bullseye, wins a turkey.

They hold 'turkey shoots' in bowling also.
