I think there are many bad foot positions and only one good one. By that I mean there's a "best" stance for each player, a little different than the one for another player. Your best stance will ideally put your stick and stroke in comfortable and natural alignment with your line of sight. Is there a bad foot position?
I find a certain foot position encourages
a better stroke. Obviously it is causing
a change in body position. Anyone else
experience this? In your experience
what change causes what?

An often-overlooked part of the stance is elbow position - how close to the body it is. This plays a part in finding your "best" foot position.
I recommend finding your "best" stance by aligning your body parts with each other first, leaving the balls out of it until you find what's comfortable and effective for you.

I subscribe to that 100% Joe.
Take Aikido or any other Martial Art. Where is your Ki power? At the Tanden area of your stomach.
Placing your feet properly and the key word, Balance is achieved.
I learned this from taking dance lessons for years. Your center of gravity is considered to be in the same place as they do in Martial Arts. Your Tanden area.
Your head can also play a huge role in balance. Look down and your head can actually throw you off balance.
If your center of gravity and feet placement are off, people can push and throw you around quite easily.
Being conscience of your COG and feet placement, someone will find it more difficult to throw you off balance when you are well grounded.
You made a couple of valid points when you mentioned balance and your head.
