The toughest easy shot

is what I call this shot. For some of us these are hangers and for some of us these are nightmares. In any case another good way to start off the day.

Enjoy & curse to your hearts content ;)

The balls frozen are confusing me Joe. What's the shot? Like any shot where the OB is frozen and the CB is a little bit off the rail and you have to shoot past the side pocket?

Sorry to confuse. Start off with just the 1B and CB on the table, make it and draw cb back, then continue with the 2,3,4,5 from their locations and do the same on the opposite side with the 6-10. Ten straight in draw shots.

easy hard

drill? and the high balls on each rail go in same opposite corners?

I was playing a guy 10 yrs ago. We were both C players at the time. This shot came up for me, OB froze, cue ball a ball off the rail or less, and I had to draw the cue back for position. It looked like a super easy shot, but I KNEW better. I was gambling, and offered the shot to my opponent to shoot. He looked at me like I was nuts, and said, "hell yeah". He shot the shot, and missed. I won the game.

This shot is so much easier to pocket (for me) with follow on the cue ball.

Great drill, one I should do, as this is a weak shot for me...

Nice move. We have an older guy here "Lucky Joe" that when in that situation for the set he's famous for saying with a smile & his nice Dominican accent "I take twenty from here" and we're playing for $40.

I missed a 9 ball once for a 5 pack in a ring game yrs ago just shooting a stop shot from where the 3 ball is in the diagram, missed it bad and thats when I started looking into it a bit more.

Joe did you say a " good way to start the day " ...lol might be a good way to finish it ! You are right it could be a nightmare for some , like me , first thing at the table I need a more of the hanger in the pockets type..Really good work out though

Sorry Ed, should have said good way to start the day if you have a short memory? I know where you're coming from.

I was watching Mike Davis play in a 9 ball tourney a few years ago and he had this shot (I can't recall exact positioning of the 8 and 9, but you'll get the idea). I was a lot greener then than I am now. I saw him deliberate a bit. I recall saying to myself "WTF? Shoot that straight in shot bro, you'll lay straight in on the 8!"

KK9 <- me learned sumthin' that day

they were probably frozen frozen and the 7 was too far away from pocket for the ole slow roll with inside shot.
