Hello everyone. first off, this is a fantastic website. a lot of interesting stuff..

okay so, i always hear pool players and people bashing Jeanette Lee. Saying shes a ***** or what not and she is a horrible shooter. well let me ask you all something. Have you ever meet her? well i have and i can tell you that anything negative that you may have heard about Jeanette is so completely false. I had the Privilege of meeting her at an IPT qualifier In Orland Park, Illinois at Protyme Billiards and she is such a nice person and a true pool player. She treated everyone with such respect and kindness. She didnt hesitate to chat or to take a picture with you. and for the people that have said that she is a horrible shooter, You obiviously have a different perspective on the game because she is no where near horrible, she's a champ.

To sum up, Dont dog someone that you never meet. One its rude and two it starts nasty rumors and trends. People like to talk trash and the listeners like to agree when someone is getting bashed, and the go along with it. Its not right to do. you all take care, and i hope to hear some good responses. Bottom line, Jeanette Lee is the S@*t :)

odd i dont recall reading a single bad remark about her, most of the time people sing her praise and talk about how hot she is lol.

News to me. I always thought she was a good shot and a great asset to the pool world.

I think there was some bad press about her... 10 years ago! Maybe the post got lost in the mail.

Yeah, the above posters beat me to it. I never heard anything negative about her either. What exactly did you hear?

I admit I had the sense a while ago that while JL was posing on pool tables and signing autographs and playing goofy challenge games at national league events and the like, others like Karen C. were quietly bellying up to the table.

More recently, I note she (JL) entered the 14.1 event and the Albany event and the IPT qualifier. She's shown that she plays jam up and that she's willing to play. I also liked the things she said about Nagy.

So my opinion of her has gone up. --not that it was ever bad, and not that I ever really paid that much attention-- but it's just that I see things to admire now.

Many years ago, some of the women players didn't like the way she dressed or the way she promoted herself. They also may not have liked the fact that she was a fearsome competitor. That's pretty much dried up. I've heard nothing recently.

She is super nice. That's why she has sponsorship deals out the yingyang, and is even moving into broadcasting. She did an exhibition in Germany for the soldiers, talked to us for a few minutes, and even held my son. I tried to ask her for her number, but my wife wouldn't quit hanging around. :p

She played a few people during the exhibition, and ran out every time anyone missed, so yeah, she plays pretty sporty. If she set up a gambling match where Johnny Archer broke for her, she'd probably be able to win against a very high percentage of today's male pros.

Ok, jumping right in.

Speaking of rumors and trends, I'm calling you straight out on this and asking you to show me just one example of Jeanette being bad mouthed around here.

There was a fairly recent thread on this forum regarding Jeanette. I believe Pharaoh has a negative opinion of her. The thread was fairly long, everyone posting their experiences trying to convince his image of her was false, to no avail in the end.

I am positive it was this year. Let me go look for it...

Yes indeed, it was in June.

Some fairly negative things here from pharaoh. Some of you jumped on jamup pretty good. Maybe he read that post then and remembered it and wanted to post about his experience.

geez Mr. moderator, good move. See my post.

You guys jump on someone giving a positive experience...

A 3 month old 5 page post and a moderator is gonna jump in and cand call this guy out like you did?

I met her once and she was less than friendly. As well, I made a comment about how she refused to show up a small tournament for 8 of the top WPBA pros out there that was hosted at ourlocal room. Mr. T. put up the money for it and made sure that all the ladies were paid out regardless of their finishing. He even made it clear that dinner was on him too (as most of the women on tour love T). But according to inside sources, she refused to show without a $10,000 appearance fee. As well, a few of the ladies on tour (a couple of whom I trust) also expressed that she was not exactly the nicest person.

But hey! This is just my take. And yes. I do not know the woman from a hole in the wall. So I guess you could say my opinion is somewhat baseless. At least, some of you have said that. But hey, this is my opinion and I have formed this opinion based on several factors and, as a result, I find it to be a rather fair assessment. Disagree if you will. If I've offended any of you, sorry. But that's just how I feel.

Welcome to the forum jamup. I think you overstated any bad publicity she has had. Maybe you have just been listening to the wrong person. Nobody is liked by everyone, and negative comments have been minimal at best, but I agree with your personal opinion of her completely. I have been around her just enough to feel she is 100% class.

I was watching her play in a tournament in my hometown. She was half over a shot, and a guy with a camera flashed her. She stood up and was visibly upset and looked at the guy. He mouthed he was sorry and held out his hand in apology. She went back to the shot forgetting it with a lot of poise and class. A lot of players would have demanded the camera taken away or had him removed or verbally berated him.

Welcome to the forum, Jamup! Jeanette has and always will be a class act and a credit to the sport. :)

I can see now that this topic is never going to go away.

Yes. I stated that I had a negative opinion of Jeanette. This is true. I also stated that this opinion was formed as the result of several things that I thought I did not agree with. Then, 20 or so members jumped on my back (while only several members took the high road and opted to respectfully disagree) and began to talk about their personal expeirences with her. They began to showcase the positive and used that as evidence that she is, in fact, a good person.

Kelly_Guy, you said it best. You all tried to convince me that my image of her was false and your efforts were, in fact, to no avail. Much the same way my story did little to change your opinions of her, I did NOT live your experiences with the woman and thus, they can only be taken at face value. At the end of the day, all I have are my experiences and that is how I form my opinions.

Kelly, My boy Pharoah got it pretty good for his opinion.

This fellow said he sees it all over the place and I did call him on it.

I'm not sure he needs your help defending his statement, as it is his first post.

I still see nothing wrong with either though.

Pharoah got it for his opinion, this guy was asked to show where the facts in his statement are.

I wasn't calling you out by mentioning your name, and did not wish to start the issue over again surrounding your specific opinion. I was only trying to show that jamup's post should not have been met with so much disdain. I felt it was a poor way to greet a first time poster. He definitely exaggerated, but I don't think he did anything that warranted being called a !hit disturber.

I don't think people should attack you for your feelings. I think you are wrong about her overall, but we are all influenced by our own experiences, and sometimes people are passionate about those experiences. It is sometimes easy to forget to leave the zeal at the door when arguing a point.

He doesn't need my help, I chose to defend it. Yeah, I guess you "asked" him, but it sounded pretty much like a demand to me, and he was labeled as a !hit disturber. You called him out for something that you apparently knew about as you are defending his verbal lashing because "Pharoah got it". If you think your post as a moderator was a suitable way to greet a first time poster, than no big deal, I just disagree with you.

I understand. Truth is, when I was typing my first post in this thread, only a few people had responded. I knew damn well that jam-up was talking about me and my earlier statements but, by the time I had finished posting, someone had already given the link and cited my earlier comments.

But you are right. Our opinions can (should) only be formed by our own experiences. As a result, I don't expect people to agree with me. I just wish people would stop expecting me to agree with them.
