I was sitting around watching a program about whales on Animal Planet (I don't know why it's mostly anti hunting/trapping propaganda) which got me to thinking. Has anyone here seen or heard about a cue made using Narwhal ivory. It's probably illegal as hell nowadays but it would be cool to see

Thanks, Jake

I'm all for narwhal ivory harvesting!

1. They're bigger than elephants, so we get to kill something REALLY big to prove what being a good predator is all about.

2. And they help control plankton populations. Killing narwhals will hurt the environment as a whole much more than killing elephants.

It's a win-win situation!

A: Narwhal are a lot smaller than an elephant, plus an elephant has twice as much ivory, making it the ultimate trophy animal

B: Narwhal don't eat plankton, they eat fish, crabs and squid. Thus killing Narwhal means more crabs and subsequently more seasons of Deadliest Catch

How much Ivory you think could be harvested from these Wildebeasts ... ???

Dude!!! Make that go away please! It's enough to put one off of food entirely!!!

Ivory ....

I have a friend that has access to some Mamoth ivory that comes from a frozen Mamoth found in Siberia frozen in the ice. I forget how old it is, but thousands of years old. He has made some things using it, including cues, and the ivory certainly has an unique look to it, different from Elelphant ivory.
