The Ultimate Post Office Horror Story

I know it is too late now, but when I have MAILED Cues, I USE A USPS Triangle, the Cue is wrapped in Baby Flannel, and is put in a PVC Tube that goes inside the Triangle, (white water pipe tube). The Cost of the PVC minimal, and make a pretty bullet proof package.

The goverment gave me a runaround trying to get disability.Turned down twice then a court hearing. My attorney went into chambers and 5 minutes later they ruled in my favor. It only took 18 months. Its true they want you to give up.
Keep at it and you will get paid.

If you think about the amount of damage on the cue, even a pvc tube won't save it. It'll still be crushed that way. Your best bet would be a 5mm and up thick steel pipe.

That said, in other cases, a pvc tube would definitely provide extra protection.

It was very well packaged for normal protection. PVC or metal would not have made a difference in this particular situation. There was enough force to completely shatter the shafts...not simply break them, and to bend the metal A joint pin at right angles.

Well the one good thing about dealing with the Post Office where I live is the INSURANCE Cleark is a Person who will talk with you unlike FED-X Press.

thats why I ship in pvc...cost more to ship but worth it to me. Never had anything dinged up.

And maybe pvc wouldn't have helped, but my guess is 4 inch pvc is going to be tougher to get bent in half like yours was. I'd almost guess it got got in the middle of a roller set that is powered.

yeah, i think some of you are underestimating the strength of large dia Sch 80 pvc pipe is. you can certainly drive over it with no problem.

black iron is super cheap, and reasonable to ship if it is a high dollar cue (due to weight i mean). a cue in a 3 or 4 inch black iron pipe might weight 50 pounds but it aint gettin hurt.
