The ultimate TAR match

I think it would be sweet to see a round robin format but with no 8 ball. I'd like to see 10 ball on day one, short rack banks on day two, and one pocket day 3.
I think Alex and Shane should match up this way and I think it would be a sick match for sure. I don't know every single tar match that's went down so this could've already happened but just throwing it out there.

What would be your dream tar match to sweat?

Jeremy Jones and Scott Frost in a one pocket match, race to 9.

BEST in the USA round Robin.
1 Pocket
10 Ball
8 Ball
Straight Pool

Everyone plays everyone in every discipline. Top 2 move on to 3 game type playoff (Race to 7 for 10/8Ball, Race to 5 One Hole, Race to 200 for Straight Pool) #1 Picks two and #2 picks one. Playoff round could be done in a day.

Each guy puts up say 3K. Takes a week to do (maybe in parallel with other event) Winner get "free roll" in to next TAR-Classic event.

My Picks:
Earl, J Archer, SVB, Frost, Deuel

I know. Living technicolor but a man can dream.

My only reason for saying I'd like to see no 8 ball is because I think 8 ball is a great game. But only on a bar table. IMO.

I would like to see Shane and Scott play one pocket

Ditto. The one pocket following is strong and people spend money. I think part of the reason it has not happened is that TAR is worried it wont sell, I think it will do very well, one pocket interest has never been better. :)

Partner one pocket
partner 9 ball 2 foul
not a scotch double

Scott frost and earl vs efrin and shane

no reserve on attitude

I like the way you think!! I believe the Earl-Mike match would be entertaining to watch as well.

I'd like to see a scotch doubles match or something more off the wall.

I'd like to see Shane play Frost 1p and silence the critics.

I'd LOVE to see some one step back up and do race to 100. Doesn't even need to be SVB involved. I love watching the grind. My logic with the race to 100 is this. The comeback that Alex had on Shane doesn't happen if it 3 sets to 25. We might have missed out on that, and the next match they played where Shane made it a point to put him away.

best,

Justin

That my friend would be pool heaven! Would love to see this go down one day.

I would like to see a double round robin one-pocket match with 5 players race to 5. Justin pick 10 players then do a pole on AZB and the top 5 play. Entry $2500 winner take all. Here would be my picks to pick from!

1. SVB
2. Darren Appleton
3. Scott Frost
4. Jeremy Jones
5. Alex Pagulayan
6. Efren Reyes
7. Dennis Orcollo
8. Joey Gray
9. Chip Compton
10. Justin Hall

would like to see about 8 amazing players. make it all 10 ball. Random draw in pools of 4 with shorter races maybe 9-11 or so. 4 make it to day 2 semi-finals. Best 2 out of 3 with shorter races, maybe 11-15. Finals is a best two out of three on day 3 with races in the 15 neighborhood.

Up to ante to about 8k from Tar instead of 5k. Charge by each match, or whole days can be purchased, and whole weekend. Get each player to put up 1k of their own money. so now there is 16k in the pot and you can pay top 4,

7k, 4k, 3k, 2k.

The players are chosen by looking at all the previous matches, and adding anyone that TAR really wants to be put in. The final spot should be done by fan voting, based on a few nominated candidates by Tar.

From this system you can really jump right into a Tar ranking, where there are undercard events and larger PPV events.

This is how i see Tar making the biggest splashes and having people want to watch. This makes it more like a show where you can have you favorite players and rooting for them to get their shot at the title. Obviously the problem with this I know is getting 8 players together to play, but I think it could be worked out.

That would be pretty cool, Justin hall and svb one pocket would be sik

I like the all-around, but TAR is traditionally a 3-day deal (which is good for the 9-5 types watching). And it would be weird to have 4 events, two of them would have to be on the same day.

I think three games are good enough for an all-around:

10b
1p
14.1

I like playing 8b, but as a test of skill, I don't think it offers anything not covered by 14.1. 9b is similarly superseded by 10b. Banks is too specific and esoteric. There are bank specialists who appear year after year in the DCC finals but are no threat to win a world title in anything else.

+1 on the bumps. That's why my pick for the 3 games was Alex and svb who are both super strong all around'ers

14.1 could be the great equalizer. Not many of the top pro's play it regularly. Would be interesting to watch it weighed in.
