The Wonderful World Of Billiards , Snooker , Pool etc !

Hi, please can someone point me in the direction of any threads specifically aimed at people with home tables. I've recently converted the garage and installed a second hand 9ft table. I have respect for table fitters and when I eventually buy a new cloth I might invest but taking this current project on DIY I'm really happy with my slate accuracy and managed to re-stretch the old cloth pretty well.

I'd like to share my experience of buying, dismantling, transporting and rebuilding my table for anyone out there who is thinking of a similar project and daunted by the task. I have quite a bit of building experience too so can offer some thoughts on appropriate techniques in garage conversions. I can share photos.

Lastly, the table is a complete mystery, I was guessing it was a Birmingham Billiards Ltd Monarch but a local snooker shop suggests its a Chinese copy. I'd love it if someone knew more about it as the quality of the build seems very good. 5 slates at 2" thick which butted up to give the most perfect joints.

Me and the Family are not even a week in to using the games room and its been a hard slog but worth it in the end.

Welcome to the forums.

Other members have shown their DIY table projects, but it has been mostly in the main forum. Most members are pool players, but your experience will be useful/interesting to share.

There is also a table mechanics subforum if you have any remaining issues.

Eurosport doesn't feel that 'Merkins should see such things.

Honestly, a drunk Girl Scout could have made that shot if you held her up to the table.

I apologize, but I mentioned last night, many times in many different paragraphsHow great your run is but misspells your name, because I'm using speak to text and it was late and I was tired but let me reiterate, I'm one of the few people that actually know how difficult what you did is physically mentally.
the courage it takes to shoot tough shots. When you're up over 4 or 500 balls, you're shotmaking and Q Ball control is exquisite.
Your rhythm is a big part of what makes you so dangerous for high runs? Because you waste 0 energy very smart .
with the template and the taom chalk. I honestly think players of your caliber. I think you could run over 800 a couple of more times in your career.
It was fantastic to watch, inspiring And I learned a few things that I might change in the way I play,
but at any rate, you're an animal super talented and I don't think your record would ever be beat because there's only 2 or 3 players that play fast enough and can one stroke with accuracy. Shane and fedor have 0 chance to run 800.Not because they don't play great, but because they would be worn out.
So you're a special breed for sure. Congrats.
And for the record cranfield, high run was 420, which was validated by many of his peers. You shattered my run and you're run by a mile. You are the king. There's no debating it and all these rumors from the past that were made up to throw shade on my high run. We're just that rumors. You have beat most pros high run by?Like five hundred balls , you're a freaking bad dude

Congrats Shaw on running 832 and I just want to say I've been watching players a long time. And your combination of talent, courage, feel rhythm and knowledge is bad a**.
I think if I could build a robot to run big runs. It would be just like you. You're shot making cb control rhythm Pace of play ,courage under fire. You are awesome and I don't think your high run will ever be beat.
nice job and I'm glad I got to see it in my lifetime and not just hear about it.
