The X-Breaker break cue

I was just teasing ya, every Pool player likes to have an 'edge' if they can.
NO, I believe I am a good judge of equipment, and I plan on getting an
XBreaker myself, but at this point in my life (not working full time), I can
not always afford the equipment at the time I want it ...
If I was still working, I have no doubts that I would be a cue collector
by now ...

Glad to know that you can spot quality equipment. ;) :p Hope you can order yours soon.

scott, if u ever sell your j/j to finance the xbreaker, let me know. i really love how she looks and probably how she plays :p

ps whats the new avatar about?

Oh no ...

Solly ..Don't tell me you don't know who Snoopy is? He is from
the comic strip 'Peanuts' by Charles Shultz. The little bird is
Woodstock. Ever heard that song 'The Red Baron'?.

i know who snoopy is (lucky me), but i dont know the song. was just wondering if it had any special meaning. :p

ps got a new job, starting monday so guess ill be able to buy my first cue next month with the first paycheck *happy joy joy dance*. also i tried to play some games for money yesterday, and the 2 guys almost accepted but finally they descided not to as they where short in time, and they said: hope u are not mad, next time maybe. only asked 5$/frame. ah well :) next time more luck. i did play my best pool ever yesterday. (went training without the girlfriend this time) and was pleased to see i had a average of 2 misses/ rack. so around 50 misses in 25racks straight pool. (mostly cuz i wasnt concentrating and just enjoying the game, forgetting to chalk, sing to loud with the music.. etc). anyway had a greath night, i feel very confident in my game, and might do a quick tournament tomorow just for the sake of it. (unless i get drunk this night... :p the party animal in me is wanting to come out..)

Received my maple wrapless X-Breaker today. All the breaks I had today had a real nice spread and I was making something on the break more than usual. I was playing an all day travel league and didn't get to find the best spot for me, but it was breaking them nicely. I know for a fact it helped me runout a few time. It jumps really well. I had to jump 4 times.. I think.. and I hit three of them and made the other one. It really gets the cueball up fast with very little effort, pretty amazing at how well it works. Tomorrow I am going to spend more time practicing with it. ;)

I only tried out the X Breaker for a few minutes and jumping with it is
sooooooooooooo easy.Personally I didn't test drive it enough to give a fair personal comment on it for breaking. I will say this, however, that I know a few locals who own one and they absolutley love it.

I've bought a few other cues from Richard and his professionalism as a dealer is first class.

Dave,
Thank you very much for taking the time to post your review of the X Breaker. Thank you for your compliment. It was a pleasure meeting you in the US Open. Have a happy holiday season. ;)

Walter,
I have never read such a long post from you before and I am so flattered that you would take the time to post a positive review on the X breaker. We need more players like you who would stay loyal to their cue sponsors. I totally understand and respect your decision. It was a real pleasure being able to serve your billiards needs. Thank you so much.;)

Tanner,
I will be looking forward to your feedback regarding your new weapon.;) Please let me know if there is anything I could do for you. Thank you so much for choosing the X breaker.

RJ,
Thank you for everything. Let's meet up so you can try out the X breaker to see if it would work for you. You have always been awesome. Thank you. We need more players like you.

Mike,
We choose our dealers very carefully and Beads and Billiard is really professional. They stand behind their sales. They have been selling a lot of X breakers over the last few months. I am not sure how long they will keep their promotional price on. I was told that they will move it back up after Christmas. I am glad you got one from them while they still haveone in stock. Thank you for choosing the X Breaker.

Scott,
Thank you for your trust in the X Breaker. Thank you for taking the time to post on my forum and for visting my site, I have just posted some more videos there of Jennifer Chen.

I am leaving for Japan in a couple days and I will try to post some pictures of the All Japan Championship on my site. I am not sure if I have Internet but I will do my best. Please forgive me if I cannot answer my PM or email promptly. It could be quite difficult sometimes.

Once again, thank you very much for everyone's support and encouragement. That means a lot to me and I really appreciate them.

I hope you will enjoy my photo gallery of the All Japan Championship, it should be up on 24 November.

Richard,

I tried to PM you but it's full.

I got a x-breaker from Courtney with beads and billiards. I expected a wrapped maple classic but got a wrapless one with blueish looking tip.

I'm thinking about returning it for a wrapped cue but before I do wanted to know what differences are there between wrap and wrapless maple classic (in terms of quality, price and etc.). Also is the tip light blue-ish looking? Finally, while I realize that the beauty is subjective, what is the best color? Maple or Black? Same quality wood?

Can you reply here or via PM? Thanks.

I received my Classic Maple with wrap X-Breaker last Monday, and I'm very happy with it. It's really amazing how easily you can jump balls at any distance with great accuracy. Also a lot of power on the breakshot, and cb very easy to control, especially since I have added the weight pin that came with it, but I think it's a matter of personal preference.
Just to add my positive feedback to yours. :)

The tip is as intended- that bluish tint is appropriate. As for the wrap/ no wrap models and any differences, I can't comment. However...this whole X-Breaker process seems to have very intellegent support behind it. R&D, Marketing, Sales, all aggressively, more importantly accurately pursued. THat said- it would be less costly to do the wrapped/ no wrap cues with the identical mfg process, save the wrap.
Richard- post your resume (CV) up here:rolleyes:

Walter,
Yes, righ now, the problem is that I need to set things up differently to build the wrapless model.
It all started because a few customers in the US Open asked me if I could build them a few wrapless X breakers. Only a very small number of them were built.
I will be offering leather wrap very soon. I have received a lot of requests about that.
It is hard to find a balance between increasing my output and taking care of all my customers. I really want to offer my customers what they want, rather than what I think they need.
With regard to marketing, we are far from being intelligent. We basically try to let the quality of the X Breaker do the talking; we also like to listen to comment and suggestion and we spend a lot of time trying out new design and new ideas in order to improve ourselves. Honestly, I am sure most companies are doing the same thing. There are still a lot of things I am trying to learn.
Thank you very much for your compliment and comment.;)

X-Breaker Tip question

Richard,

In the event that the tip was to come off my X-breaker do you sell replacement tips? Someone asked me that question last night and got me to thinking, how are the tips installed?

Lunchmoney

Lunchmoney,

Our tip will not come off. It is threaded onto the ferrule via the compression pad. You can hit the ball as hard as you want and the tip will not come off or crack. I guarantee the Xtreme tip and the X Breaker for life. Some of the biggest breaker in the world have used and are still using my X Breaker, the tip has never come off or cracked.

I can replace the shaft with the tip already installed in case something happened to the shaft/ferrule/tip.

Matthew,

Our tip is not made of the glass epoxy Joe Gold uses for his joint pin. We have actually tested glass epoxy. It was very loud, everytime I tried it it sounded like the tip was broken. Also, it cracked after a while (I am not sure if it cracked because it was made from glass or what, and I have seen Cognoscenti pin cracked in the past). That material was almost impossible to machine. I would not use that mainly because of the sound and the fact that it cracked.

Thank you for your question.

Thanks Richard for telling us a little bit about the tip.I had a no it all guy I no who tryed to say it was g-10.I told him it was not!The x-Breaker is awsome better than any break cue I have tryed.

Glass epoxy will crack. I have seen the G10 joint pin cracked and chipped. As a matter of fact, Jennifer Chen's cue has a chipped G10 pin. On one of my old cues, the G10 pin came loose which leads me to believe may be this material does not glue very well.

Of all the tips we have tried, I like the white diamond tip from Picone. We could not crack it no matter how hard we tried. It is not as hard or strong as our Xtreme tip but it will not crack like other phenolic tips would.

Richard

I installed my webcam finally and will post some breaks with it soon. The pool table is near the computer. ;)

Here is some pics of my maple classic wrapless.

Hi, I can't explain!! I'm breaking as hard as I can and the rack explodes differently than the stnger. The tip is really hard.. but no matter how hard I break w/ the xbreaker, it's just really soft. (When I break softer, the feel of the hit still remains the same..) Sorta like the cue is absorbing the impact. But even though its not a loud explosion, the balls are going all over the place. Does this make any sense? Maybe because I've only been using the cue for a week and still trying to get use to it. But one thing that's weird is the cue ball lands almost dead center of the table 80% of the time after I break. Which the stnger, I would have to be a little more controlled. And amazingly, the cue ball haven't flew off the table once w/ the xbreaker. Maybe you're right, I'm not breaking accurately....
Hi,
I am sorry it has taken me so long to reply to this post.

Thank you very much for choosing the X Breaker. Tony told me about you and said you tried to introduce the X Breaker to him. Thank you.

Actually, the X breaker is engineered to do two things for your break: to give you a good spread and to help you to control the cue ball(to keep it on the table and to park it in the middle). From what you told me, your X breaker is doing for you exactly that!:D

May be you are not used to the sound. I noticed that the Stinger is louder and because it is louder, it makes you feel like you are exploding the rack. But in my opinion, a loud noise is just energy lost in the form of sound, it is in no way an indication of effective energy transfer.

Like you have pointed out, with the phenolic tip, you really have to control your break and even try to reduce your breaking power a bit in order to keep the ball on the table. With the X breaker, you can go all the way. Logically, you should have more power when you are going all the way with your break, don't you think?

I am very happy to hear that you prefer the jump of the X Breaker to your Stinger. If you try a really loose grip, you can have even better result jumping with the X breaker.

I have posted soem break and jump videos of Jennifer Chen on my site. May be you can watch that and try to find some reference to your own break?

From what you have stated regarding how the cue ball stays on the table and parks in the dead center 80% of the time, and how the other balls are going all over the place with the X breaker, I think you are breaking them pretty good. ;) Not being able to watch you live I really cannot think of any thing else to suggest to you. May be you should ask a pro in your area such as Tony .

Once again, thank you for choosing the X breaker and for posting about your concerns. I really appreciate your willingness to introduce the X Breaker to Tony. Please tell Tony thank you for taking his time to try out my cues.

Thank you.

Richard
