Since all gambling games are for degenerates, there should be a separate section for the Psychology of pool games and pool players. What do you think?

Kidd,
I find your comments somewhat disparaging. I do not know where you are from but gambling takes many forms, not necessarily a vehicle for the running loose degenerate. There is a such thing called a gentlemanly wager. It occurs among men of means and is a testament of their beliefs in their abilities. Of course someone loses money in order to prove a point, but it serves its purpose and allows a man to preserve his honor lest he runs his mouth a little too much which might otherwise end in a duel.

I don't actually agree with you on the degenerate/ gambling thing, but for some reason you remind me of this.

A former boss once gave me this helpful advice:

"If you spend a lot of time and energy trying to figure out why crazy people do crazy things, you'll just end up driving yourself crazy."

I repeat

All gamblers are degenerates.
As are duelers.

(Just a subject for discussion)

Many psychologists are degenerates. Maybe we need a section for degenerate psychologists.

I agree there should be a section devoted to the mental aspects of the game. It would add another dimension about the game that others don't understand or even realize exists.

NOTE: ALL STORIES SHOULD BE AT LEAST 75% TRUE!!

Provide stories on how money was wagered, lost, and gained.

Tell your experiences about some of the interactive psychological warfare with opponent.

It would be cool to get your experiences with long games (i.e., to 50 or 10 ahead).

These are all aspects the game we don't hear much about.

Not pool killer. I love the games.

So does PoolKiller, not why he called himself that. He started controversial topics that descend into arguments and then watched from afar. Now banned permanently, many think Push&Pool is his new identity. There are people here who have close friends or relatives who have lost most everything gambling. That doesn't make everybody who plays pool for money a degenerate gambler. I've played for money most of my playing career, as did most of the people I learned from/played with. So did all the pros I took lessons from, including three former world champions.
I would agree with a section on the mental aspects of the game but not to what you refer to as "degenerate gambling".

Ok

OK at least its in question.

You said "all gambling games are for degenerates", right? I'm not particularly offended, just not sure why you put it that way. You can play all pool games for money, it's just that some are more often played for money than others these days. I don't get it, I guess. Would that make someone a degenerate who plays 9 ball or One Pocket??? Those are the games most played for money today, as I understand it.
No need to delete your post, btw.

Thats what I believe

We already have 43 forums, why the christ do people want more? This site definitely needs some condensing. I don't want to click 30 times every time someone discusses something of mild interest to me.
