I just competed and won the state games this past week, and was reminded why I have lost my desire to be in ANOTHER pool tournament. My first match the guy mumbled, *****ed when he missed, grabbed the chalk off the table to chalk his cue while I was shooting and didn't sit down while I was shooting. Now I know its much better to keep my mouth and my actions silent because of the repurcussions and I did, but here we are, playing for just a gold medal, donations to the kids and to have fun, this guy reminded me of the crap and the disrespect others have for this great game and why I feel like I am wasting my time being here right now. My next match the guy wanted to make sure who racked and the way we should split quarters and if it was my break I would put the quarters in and he would rack and he called (BCA rules we were using) every obvious easy shot and I said its not needed and the rules we are playing by say so, but he said oh I have been screwed before by others so thats why I do it. Its so sad to see this, and while going undefeated I only played one player where we just had fun and played and said nice game and so forth. I think the base problems are rooted around alcohol and ignorance and wanting to always be ???????????? I have an incredible amount of respect for the game ( like Earl, and I did beat him out of $2,000 back in 78 in Long Beach CA) every time I see the sos crap it just drives me away, lifes to short to put up with the SAMO BS over and over again.
