Gene Albrecht’s Perfect Aim is the Real Deal!

Hi Everyone,

I am very excited about what I learned from my lesson with Gene Albrecht the other day.
Let me say that this lesson was at Gene’s invitation. I had been considering contacting Gene for a bit now but was busy with an in house money league & really did not want to go into anything new at that time. Gene’s invitation was good timing as I had just finished with the playoffs.

I think Gene made the offer based on a few posts that I had made indicating some issues that have popped up with my game as of late. I had thought they might be given my age, 61, the same as Gene &/or perhaps due to some old & newer injuries that I had sustained. In other words, I thought my new issues might be stance or stroke related with perhaps some eye issues too, as my older injury was to ‘my right dominant eye’. Please note that I put that phrase in single quotes. The reason will become apparent later.

Anyway I naturally accepted Gene’s kind offer as I had been thinking about his program as of late anyway.
I will now tell you that Gene is a very friendly man that comes across as a very passionate man that really wants to help whomever he can play the game better & really enjoys it when he does that, which I am fairly sure is every time.

I’m not going to give Gene’s ‘secrets’ away as he has worked many, many hours which turns into days, months, & perhaps even years to figure out & realizes what he has come to know regarding how the eyes work as they do when related to executing a pool shot.

Anyway, the first thing Gene did is to test me to see if I had a dominant eye & if so which one it would be. Now I have been playing very well for nearly 48 years & have known that I am right eye dominant. So I thought that this is going to be a waste of some time, but I went along anyway.

What Gene did was to show me that for the purpose of lining up a pool shot, I am in fact left eye dominant. I have been playing very well for all these years with what amounts to a huge road block in my path to success. I really could not believe it but there was no disputing it. So… when Gene says that those pointing & circle tests don’t really work when it comes to pool, he is absolutely correct. As I said, I had a hard time believing it but there it was with no disputing it.

I won’t go into how Gene does it, other than to say that one is or can be dominant in one eye for such things as shooting a rifle or hand gun etc. but be the opposite eye dominant for say shooting those same guns from the hip which is below the eyes & angled out from one’s body much as the balls are on the table when we stand tall & pick the line in an attempt to pocket a ball.

Anyway, the bottom line of what Gene teaches is how to use the knowledge of how the eyes work for left & right cuts to the pocket or rails for banks given what eye one’s pool dominant eye is.

In the lesson, Gene had me set up some near ¼ ball hit shots frozen on the rails 3 diamonds from the corner pockets with the cue ball about 3 diamonds from the object ball. Now I’ve been playing for 47 years & would hardly ever if ever shoot this type of shot without some form of english or as of late CJ’s Touch Of Inside, but I shot these with just the center ball hit on the cue ball cue. The first ones cutting to my new pool dominant side went well but I was still a bit surprise at how well given I was not using any English nor TOI, Now when I went to the other side to shoot which is my new non pool dominant side & shot those shots, I missed & I missed again. That is, until Gene instructed me how to use my eyes to SEE the shot correctly. Then I pocketed it pop, pop, & pop just as I had the shots on the other side.

Now, I don’t want to call it a trick, but I will say that there is a method that gets the job done correctly and to simply know which eye one is dominant for pool might help some, but it would be much better to learn the methods along with that information.

Anyway I just wanted to pass on my experience with Gene & to let everyone that reads this know that if you want to up your game regardless of your age, I would highly recommend to invest in Gene’s Perfect Aim.

If I were Gene, I might consider changing the name though to See Pool Shots Right as it is not really an aiming system or method. What it is, is the information that will allow one to put oneself manually & consciously & consistently into the correct position to see the shot properly, regardless of how the shot relates to one’s true pool dominant eye.

So… if you want to increase your ability to do that, I highly recommend that you hook up with Gene for a lesson or at least buy the DVD. Also Gene is in the process of developing some shorter & perhaps specific videos for downloading & I think they will be ready shortly.

Best Wishes to ALL & My Many Thanks to Gene,
Rick

Working with Gene is golden. Such a passionate guy that has a true love for the game.

If you're interested in seeing the game from a new perspective, a call to Geno Machino should be high on your list.

Gene's work on getting your eyes to give your brain the proper perspective is without peer... Perfect Aim may be a misnomer.... It's completely about perfect trust in your sight picture.... You may aim wrong but you are going to hit it exactly where you aimed... right or wrong....

Chris

Thanks for the review Rick.
I had some brief contact with Gene some years ago, bought his DVD and we talked about cues etc, - only through PM´s though.
He strikes me as very helpful and a very nice guy.

I have also thought about giving him a call, can never learn to much and Perfect Aim (the little I know, or maybe the little I see...) works very good imo and can probably give some hints of remembrance to all of us when we are shooting good, when everything is easy.

Thanks

Need to call it something else?

Gene's work on getting your eyes to give your brain the proper perspective is without peer... Perfect Aim may be a misnomer.... It's completely about perfect trust in your sight picture.... You may aim wrong but you are going to hit it exactly where you aimed... right or wrong....

Chris

Sure aiming is part of it but it actually gets your alignment, stroke and stance in the right position once the correct dominant eye is identified for sure.

Rick is right. There is so much aiming systems out there that everyone one just says, Oh boy, another one of those.

I knew I was onto something when I first started teaching this in Lees Summit, Mo back in 2007. It took me until about 2009 to make the commitment to teach it full time on the road. it was only until then that I could work with enough players that I could start putting this puzzle all together and it just kept getting bigger and bigger all the time.

Today Perfect Aim is so much more than just aiming. It's a complete manual in how any player needs to approach the shot from the start to the finish.

Many pros and higher level players have their approaches and techniques down pretty good but the eyes still have them baffled. They just mostly get there from repetition.

The average player can't really get there from reps because they have to work and can't commit their whole life to hitting those balls around. what I teach is a definite shortcut to getting where a player wants to be with their game.

How's this for a name. Probably wouldn't fly though.

Perfect Alignment, Stance and Stroke.

Abbreviated. Perfect A.S.S. technique by gene Albrecht..........

Back to the drawing board but that is what it has evolved to. And players like Rick that learn this and play at a higher level can see the immediate merit this has for any player at any level.

I can take any c player that can hardly make a straight in shot and have them shoot the same shot in 5 to 10 times in a row in less than 15 minutes. I do this over and over from pool hall to pool hall for 5 years.

Or I can take a pro player like Rodney Morris and show them something that they never saw before and can see how much it will help them. Give them some answers to something that was holding them back a little.

There also are no negative reviews out there from players that I have taught. OK there might be a few but from over 2,000+ lessons if it didn't really help players when they pay the cash it would be all over the internet.

I need to be able to convince players everywhere that this really works so they will take a look and improve their games more than they could ever imagine.

If everyone is playing better how great would that be for pool.

If players play better they want to play more.

Teach this to kids when they start and they will never quit playing. I see it all the time. It's fun if the ball goes in the hole more.

Maybe the Perfect Fun System. Pool for dummys and smart people also.

Anyone that has learned this Like Rick and so many others have an idea for a name that would be catchy and correct.

Thanks Rick, Chris and everyone else in the world that has learned Perfect Aim.

And Rick, I think your on the right track here for sure. it's not just an aiming system but an overall playing system that is easy to learn and follow.

Thanks everyone.

Hi Gene,

You absolutely must get your 'vision' checked. It's faulty.

Please 'see' what I have put in bold above.

Now then... you must ADAPT your 'vision'... as it is NOT really an 'aiming system' at all.

It CAN be used with any aiming method that one wishes to use.

It's about seeing properly for pool.

It's about how to apply our 'natural sight' to the game of pool & how to execute a pool shot, any pool shot, correctly, at least as far as our sight is concerned.

Our eyes were not designed for shooting pool. Like CJ says, our bodies were not designed to shoot pool.

Hence, there are some accommodations or adaptations that MUST be made in order to overcome the lack of design of our eyes (& body) in order to play pool to the best of our ability.

I can not believe that I was playing so well for all those years in spite of what I now consider was a huge handicap.

When one makes those NEEDED accommodations or adaptations then we are using the design of our eyes to the best of their ability for the intention of executing pool shots properly, which means an increase & easier pocketing of pool balls.

What it is is the information AND the means of adapting our natural vision or eye sight, that was not designed for the purpose of playing pool, into a method of using our eyes in a manner that is CONDUCIVE for the purpose of shooting pool, which is the intention of executing pool shots properly, so as to pocket object balls.

Your program, whatever it is called, does that, & it is most probably the most important part of executing any pool shot.

So...get your 'vision' aligned properly so as to NOT name the program badly again.

I PMd you with a couple of possible new names &/or acronyms but I did not put a lot of thought into it. I'm sure a proper name &/ or acronym can be had.

Best Wishes, Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to You & Yours,
Rick

When I first started with perfect Aim I only made a dvd to help players not forget what they learned. I would do a lesson and say here. And hand them the dvd.

This is how it all started.

Each day I learned more and more. Finally I had to make another DVD to try and make it easier to understand.

Since that one 5 years ago I have learned so much more that I send a letter telling the player to call me for the free phone lesson because they need this to fully get the most from Perfect aim.

I quit putting posts in the aiming conversation section on AZ because about a year ago I realized that it just wasn't the place to talk about this technique.

Perfect Aim has been misunderstood by many thinking it is geometrical but to those like yourself Rick that have learned it know it is just teaching the players how to adapt our eyes to work with the brain and body to get the most from this natural mismatch we face when letting this all just happen without taking it to the next level manually.

Perfect Aim is a manual manipulation of the eyes to get them to work properly and give the best possible picture to the brain as possible. Once a player sees this there is no telling them any different and they wish they would have known this years ago.

Once learned the process of shooting pool is greatly accelerated with this technique and now the player owns it and can improve much faster.

Can't wait to get healed up and get after this.

Allot of work to do.

Thanks again Rick.

Gene,

I think, no...I more than think, that Your knowledge & method is a must for anyone that is serious about their game.

Like some on here like to say, 'we don't know what we don't know'.

AND...what we don't know can certainly be what is holding us back.

I'm glad to be of some help if that is the case AND I THANK YOU for your kind invitation when you saw my posts regarding some issues that were popping up.

Thanks for showing me that I was wrong for nearly 48 years with regards to my dominant eye for shooting pool & the subsequent method to put myself in the best position to TRULY SEE any pool shot properly.

Best to Y'a. All the Way Around,
Rick
