This is about Shane

Shane is the best in the world? Then that must mean Bustamante is the best in the Milky Way galaxy since he rarely beats him for the cash.

One point should be taken into consideration. Shane Van Boening has never said he is the best in the world. He has obscene amounts of respect for Busty and has even said he is one of the toughest opponents you could ever face!! The people saying he is the best in the world are his fans. In the meantime Shane is striving to be the best in the world, but his feet are planted firmly on the ground. He is a humble dude with a great attitude.

Not sure who said that but Shane has been to China many times and the line to the bathroom is longer than the line of people who want to try Shane in long races for BIG money.

Sure Shane could get played by dozens of Chinese players for relatively small amounts of money but no one I know of is willing to put up $10,000 USD or more for their player to play Shane.

I was present in Shanghai when VERY GOOD players were BEGGING Oscar Dominguez for ridiculous weight for what amounted to $200 a set.

Well, JB,,,as I have said to you in the past:
One of us is an expert on china, and it ain't i.

It's difficult to say which player is "better" than another. A players success is usually defined by tournament success so we are talking about consistent performances over the course of a few days playing for roughly 1-3 hours at a time. If you recreate these conditions over the course of a race to 100 match then I would say the match has some sort of substantial representation of a player's level (defined by normal tournament playing conditions). Otherwise, if the race to 100 takes course over 7-8 hours a day split up into a few days, it is a pretty different game both physically and mentally.

The most important thing is to clearly define what the argument is about. Being "better" than another player at pool is really vague. There are so many different games and formats. For example, if an NBA playoff series was 12 minutes a game, first to 12, it is quite possible that different teams will excel as compared to the normal format or perhaps a game of 96 minutes, first to 2.

(got tired of the BS with the titles)

Anyway, I see that the hopefuls are still hopeful. Well good, and you should be but "I" don't see Shane winning an oversea title EVER. Yea yea yea it could happen and good for him if it does but I don't think it will.
And to those of you who say "oh he'll get it next year, cause he's going to work hard, and blah blah blah" well guess what, so are all those other players.

There Europeans have done the most damage on that stage and will continue to do so, shane "as great as he is" is an american bully and for the most part in my book and for the most part just capable of beating up on the american boys.

"that's my take on it..... do (you know the rest)

Wow! Just wow. I came across this just now. I haven't read anything but what's quoted above and I'm not going to read the rest.

I just thought I would share my Shane "bully" story with the group. I met shane years ago at a tournament in Kansas. He was nice enough to hit some balls with me and we hung out a little the following night. We even went out to dinner and he insisted on picking up the tab and paying for my mine and my wife's dinner.

I don't know Shane. I hadn't spoken to him before then and haven't spoken to him since, but you're right. He's a real hard ass, lol.

A little birdie told me the Taiwan group backing Ko is ready to bet high when Shane and Ko play. So fire up your cell phones and call who you think you need to call because according to my inside man the window is wide open.

And it was stated to me that no one else is barred from playing Ko either.

So there you go. Do with it what you want.
