This is what you don't ship your cues in............

There are many threads out there that cover the proper way to pack and ship your cues. These threads are doing a service for the AZ community.

Let these photos serve as a reminder to those that may not have searched the above information out.

At least the cue came shipped in a cheap case for the added and needed protection. Thankfully the cue was unscathed and in perfect mint condition.

What I use

I use a 31" tube with 1/2" walls. This set up weighs in at 7.5 LBS with a butt and two shafts inside. I have seen these get ran over by a fork lift at work and survive.

I like fork lift example, good tube indeed

The best cue shipped with the best security was from ralf.. Big tattoo ... Very good... Lol I was pissed at him over it cause of the courier he used... But all went well...

Your local carpet store will probably give you the carpet tubes or let you get them out of trash. You can then cut to length. Their unused foam scraps are good padding too.

Roger u collect cues?? Man U need to PM I got my hands
In all kinds from Szamboti's to cogs i can get u a awesome deal
And hunt down whatever u want.

I use 4" thin wall pvc most of the time.

PVC is the way, either 3" or 4" depending...hard for the inspectors to deny a claim when confronted with it... plus I use wood glue to glue every flap, gap, etc... tape alone isn't enought for the abuse a shipping carrier will give it.

Unless the cue is a collector item and can't be replaced double insure and hope they scratch it.

USPS will not bring package to door any longer. No wonder they are losing money. UPS is the way to go.

They do around here. Maybe it depends on where you live because my wife is a mail carrier and does it many times a day. How do they get a signature confirmation if they don't?
