There should be no surprise that Efren is getting weight from some of these young guns; the man is 60 years old, according to what I read......

How many pros of that age will still gamble like he does?

Obviously, he is beyond his prime years...

These kids who gamble with him probably gain extra prestige by "beating" a legend.....
 
efren can hold his own, but games like 9 and 10 ball seem to favor the younger players. takes more energy and is more fast pace, especially the longer races can take it out of you.

id be really interested seeing earl play in this environment with so much going on lol

i think i remember him saying in an interview that on one occasion he beat efren in the philippines in 9 ball. there were hundrerds of spectators and apparently not one person cheered for earl.
 
What most people fail to realize is the noises that are in the videos are "NORMAL" noises that are heard almost 24/7 in the Philippines, depending upon where one lives.

What distracts me, and I assume most people, when playing pool is a noise that isn't normal. I can play with people talking and music playing and lots of stuff going on, but when something "out of the ordinary" happens it catches my attention.

Roosters crowing, jeepneys and trikes running up and down the roads honking horns, etc. is the normal everyday sounds there. They are used to it and it doesn't phase them. They only become "sharked", if they ever do, when they get used to playing internationally with "no noise" and then someone makes a noise.

I suspect Earl would do well in that environment, especially if he could develop his own cheering section. It's the "church-quiet" pool that bottles Earl up until he explodes. If he could intereact with the fans from the git-go, I think he'd do better.

Earl would rather play with chickens clucking than listen to someone eating potato chips in the audience. ;)

I always eat chips in the audience. Maybe that's why your opponents always comped me tickets to watch their matches :)
