This Match - Reviewing the Tape So Far

Not quite. Here's how it has gone in terms of the breaker winning the game.

Orcollo
  • Day 1 -- 5 of 9
    Day 2 -- 7 of 9
    Day 3 -- 8 of 9
    Total -- 20 of 27 (74%)

Frost
  • Day 1 -- 6 of 9
    Day 2 -- 3 of 8
    Day 3 -- 7 of 9
    Total -- 16 of 26 (62%)

Combined for all three days -- 36 of 53 (68%)

Thanks, I was just referring to day 2 and 3 that I watched, but it would still be under 95%, I'll adjust my number accordingly

Every match is different, but alex vs scott, was the score aftet a few days something like 30-29?

I vaguely remember the details.

According to that, Dennis is getting stronger the longer this match goes on.

Do you have stats from the match Alex and Scott played that was 8 ahead with Alex winning? I watched that entire session (besides passing out on day 3) and I don't think Scott is playing Dennis as strong as he did Alex.

Now that's a match I would gladly pay to watch, and I'd pick Alex.

I would too. You'd have to think Dennis and Alex are the top dogs playing this game for large stakes at the moment.

Every match is different, I agree but Scott was playing very strong that match, I watched the entirety of that long session and was a contributing factor to me playing more one pocket

Here are the end-of-day scores for the Pagulayan/Frost 8-ahead match in 2015:

11-7
20-19
31-30
48-44
55-47

1-P is like chess.
There is very little luck involved as the match gets longer and longer.
If one guy is just a smidgen better, he will win most of the games.
If they played a race to 1000, Dennis would win about 60%.
Thirty years ago, the top 1-P players would never attempt the shots that Dennis does.
But 1-P has evolved into a more offensive game, just like 14.1 has evolved.
Ask Incardona about the new breed of 1-P players, like Alex, Billy Thorpe, Danny Smith, and Dennis.
In my opinion, Scott doesn't have the pure pocketing ability to withstand these guys.
Scott may know more and be more creative, but he just makes too many mistakes.

Updating post #20 through all 4 days.

Well I am awake editing video and have some time to kill as it imports and renders. I have watched it all obviously as I am at the controls and its one hell of a match as I am sure many of you have seen.

I have the luxury of reviewing the footage each night as I compile some highlights from it. The match is much closer then the score is showing.

Some interesting stuff is that Scott lost if I counted right 4 games where he had a 7-0 or so ball lead which doesn't happen often. He also lost 3 or 4 games where it came down to the last ball or 2. Today he was down 4 games and had a 7-0 lead which you figure he would get it to just a 3 game deficit but lost the game.

The score could easily be the other way but most who tune in only see the score and not what transpired in the set. Scott has not performed to his best and Dennis has played phenomenal along with getting the better of the rolls a couple of times. Dennis also shakes things off it seems fairly well and Scott needs more time to do so.

I have been so impressed by Dennis and his ball pocketing and banking ability. If he had an off day though it would spell trouble because if some of these shots don't go it would be costly which kind of reminds you of Efren and how they would say he is shooting the wrong shot. It is the right shot if you can execute it so although it might not be the right shot for most mere mortals we can throw that out the window in this match.

Scott beat Dennis to the shot more times then not but did not capitalize always. Scott didn't always punish Dennis when he sold out sometimes only getting a couple balls and stuck when he could have gotten out.

I know some mentioned Dennis playing Alex and it would be fun to see but this match isn't over yet. I know Scott is a big dog from here but don't count him out yet. It has been a hell of a match so far.

I thank those who have been respectful of both players, the backers, the sponsors, myself and of course this game we all love. See you guys in less than 12 hours for the final day of this match. Your support is appreciated. Thanks!

What is it looking like regarding the sale of this match???

I would be interested in a (USB flash drive copy) or (DVD set) of course at a fee to help with expenses. Are you taking Pre-Orders??? I would love to send some cash NOW because work caused me to miss hours and hours of the match unfortunately. Just like several other members have echoed about having to work and time zone differences.

Look forward to hearing about your plans for this video content and its potential sale.

Sincerely,
KD
