Thompson custom cue #1- the pre website sale (Updated photo's!)
I represent a small father/son cue building operation out of WV. Their name's are Bob and Larry Thompson. They are producing some of the most unique and original cue configurations I have ever seen. They use only the best materials available when building these one of a kind cues. Every cue is hand-built, one at a time, cutting no corners. The custom line of cues are cored with a resign impregnated laminated maple core, are weight forward balanced and play every bit as good as they look. You only need to hold and hit one, one time and you know you have something very special.
This particular cue is a 24 point masterpiece built with Brazilian Rosewood and Master Grade 5A Hawaiian curly Koa. The spec's are;

Joint-Flat faced 3/8x10 set in micarta. The shaft is also fitted with a micarta insert to enhance the pins gripping power. Awesome joint design!
The awesome Koa in the handle area shades from light to dark as the cue is turned. The Koa reflects light like a fine gemstone! The dark Rosewood give outstanding contrast;
The butt cap is Koa with a Rosewood stripe. The collar on the shaft is Rosewood with a Koa stripe;
The ferrule is Rosewood with a Koa accent stripe;
Truly a one of a kind masterpiece! This is one I really wish I could keep in my Thompson collection but if I said that about every cue, we would be living in a cardboard box under a bridge somewhere (but damn, I would look good in the pool hall!)
