Thorsten Hohmann a Filipino at heart

Thorsten is just an all around good person it seems like. A great pool player and a great guy.

OT but a lot of Euros love going to the islands b/c they love the white sand beaches down there.
In fact, a lot of them don't go back to Europe until the Euro winter is over.
Some don't go back at all. They just marry localy women and open their own resorts.

Hohmann practically lives in a suitcase, traveling from one big event to another across Europe and around the world.

World champion or not, still doesn't sound like a life I'd like to live.

You nailed it, I couldn't think of a classier guy to win the inaugural IPT event.

Has anyone else noticed that pro pool players like Asian women? Not to mention any names, but when I was at the bar after the finals of the 14.1 WC, all the Asian ladies were getting the looks and attention. Surreal.

One of his exes was Filipina too, that's probably where he learned most of his Tagalog.

Thorsten Hohmann and the European players are the greatest hope for pool in my opinion. Most people see pool as a game of no-class played in bars and seedy dark rooms. These European players show all the class and dignity this game deserves. Much like golf, they exude a sense of being a gentleman and playing a gentleman's game. It is with this outward message that pool might have a chance save Earl Strickland or Mike Sigel being the most prominent figure.

Didn't Philly native Willy Mosconni exude a sense of being a gentleman, playing a gentleman's game?

You're pointing out a few bad apples while forgetting guys like Varner, maybe Eberly, both college educated, World class shooters on and off the table, just to name a few. Too bad negativity sells papers, or at least gets people to chime in on threads that bash the select few who have bad attitudes.
