Thoughts on Pro Game

I have been away from the game for two years. Since I have been paying attention again I still find the 9 ball game as being broken. So I have two questions: 1. Why hasn't 15 ball rotation ever been tried as the pro game? 2. With 9 ball why not add a rule where the shooter has to bank every other shot and make the game a scoring game where you get points for the numerical value of each ball?
Full rack rotation takes too long, not good for audiences. Bank pool already exists, there's short rack bank and full rack bank pool.

The first specific response to my question. Thanks. My thoughts are that a longer more difficult game would make for better viewing. Of all the games one pocket is the best one for me to watch if top talent is playing. I understand why Joe six pack would never watch it but I have to believe some middle ground can be found. Run out after run out is just not entertaining. If match rooms fails that should serve as some sort of omen to move on to something else.

Rotation is a specific game...score 61 pt for the win and values are marked in each ball...I think you know that and I agree that is no good.

I'm still selling my game:
All 15 balls, 9b rules and incoming player gets ball in hand. Whoever makes the last ball wins that frame and breaks next rack.

I'm telling you all- these pros play so well and playing 9/10b doesnt get them up to highway speed.

1. They took that away, well the straight pool equivalent of it, years ago because of TV time and tried Texas Express 9 ball. It didn't work because it's boring as hell, so they just quit televising pool.
2. I think APA does that,,,,,,,,,,,,

15 ball rotation is called American Rotation or something like that?? Tyler Styer was trying to start a weekly league near me a while back but apparently couldn't garner enough interest. Even though I am nowhere near his level I signed up to play, its unfortunate it went nowhere.

I think pool needs to grow before games become longer, in this day and age most sports are looking to make their competition quicker to keep thew fans interested. Most hard core pool people will most likely always watch pool because its their chosen game, not so much for the casual fan.
