Im gonna put an ivory sleeve on the joint of my latest cue. Is it ok to thread the joint and the ivory?

Joe

No.... not necessary to thread it. You can do it like any other joint cap. It will hold up if taken care of. It can crack if dropped or exposed to great temperature changes. It can crack if played with after being in a cold car in the winter. Let it come up to room temp first. Or it can just decide to crack.

Some people put it over a phenolic sleeve for added strength..

I decided to just sleeve it over a phenolic plug. I was worried the wall thickness would be too thin where the threads were. Thanks man.

My buddy called this morning saying he was stinkin' drunk last night and explained how he broke his arm in 3 places.........
Duh...... I told him he should have just stayed at the 1st bar and skipped the other 2.

Sorry for the late reply. This works for me. Six years, no problems.
