Threads of the Year

As a contrast to the "This forum has turned into boring garbage" thread, I wonder what people's favourite threads have been. I don't have specific threads in mind, but categories.

I've really appreciated all the WPC/US Open/IPT play-by-plays, and spend way too much time on my computer hitting refresh. And all the private room at DCC makes me excited even thought i'm not going.

I love the hustler/road player/old school pool player stories people have. I'm always amazed at the experience/history so many people who post here have.

ALways like the techincal post, especially with WEI diagrams, and the copyright infringing reprints of magazine articles.

I think we're pretty lucky to have pros post and lurk here, and it's always interesting to see pros like Earl or John Schmidt post, and any of the regulars/semi-regulars and those with their own sub-forums. I really love how generous Jen Bareetta and Sarah Rousey are with their posts. And I think every appreciates JAM's contributions, whether they be tourny updates, insider stories, etc.

I could live without all the "is Efren the greatest ever," "does Earl sometimes lose his cool," (could we just have codes for these 2 topics, so people could just post #47 for "Efren is great", and #19 for "Earl needs to chill out") "this cue sucks," "wow Jen you're hot," "wow your avatar is hot," "so-and-so is such a jerk," "you moderators suck," etc. etc.

Although I agree there are lots of boring garbage threads, I think there are many thread that still make AZ worthwhile.

I don't enjoy any of them. I just get so overwhelmed with depression some times that I come here to look at the lives of others and realize that my life isn't all that bad after all. :D

(okay, for the stiffs around here, YES! That WAS sarcasm.)

I think that this year on the forum, we reached new heights when it came to tournament coverage, especially during the WPC, where Blowfish, Colin, TheOne, and a few others in attendance saw to it that we didn't miss a thing. The WPC mini-forum gave and gave and gave this year, though I'm not sure which thread I enjoyed the most.

Williebetmore's threads about his experiences playing with and learning from some of the old masters of the game are always superb, too.
