Thursday 2013 U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship Thread

The 9 has gone toward that pocket 4 out of 6 breaks so far. Johnny just made a 4/9 carom and a 2/9 combo. This is really not good.

Something will clearly have to be done, especially as this is the TV table. When we see the same occurrence repeatedly over a span of two or more matches, it starts getting difficult to attribute it solely to rack mechanics.

Yes, Dave Hunt is a very nice guy and I'm glad to see him doing so well. He is a strong player based in Richmond, VA. He almost always cashes in the Action Pool Tour events and Ozzy Reynolds never fails to mention that he's been runner up 68 times in the Virginia State 9-ball tournament!

Yeah, he's a really, really nice guy. David Hunt is his name. I have some photos of him, but not on this computer.

Here is a shot of him playing Earl I found on the net. David is sitting down on the left smiling.

This time the 9 finishes in the jaws of the pocket on the break. Ridiculous. Sets up a 2/9 combo for Archer.

5-0 JA

I hate tables like this that ruin MY matches. I cannot imagine how the pros feel about it. Remove that table from play for crying out loud!

Let's hear it for the boys!. Oscar is 4 to 1 over K, Guimond.

Keith Bennett is giving Thorsten Hohmann a run for his money, 4 to 4.

Our own Bartram jumps out ahead of Neil. Go Chris, go!

Handsome Oliver is 5 to 1 over Darren. That Oliver is "hawt."

Van-van is spanking Shorty, 9 to 5.

The mysterious Kuwaiti Omar, my dark horse, wins 11 to 3 over B. Tatum.

Tommy Kennedy is struggling against J. Shaw, who's now on the hill, 10 to 3.

Meanwhile, on the table that never seems to advance, Can Wang and Karl Boyle are tied at 9-9.

Looks like the live scoring has slowed down. I just can't believe that Can Wang and Karl Boyle are in the same match for all this time. :o

Scores on all the matches haven't changed, either.

Maybe I can cook dinner. :p

Keith Bennett is a monster! I saw him at the Super Billiards Expo 2 years ago gambling with Shane and John Morra. If memory serves, he beat Morra on the bar table playing even. Bennett was out from *everywhere*, and had the demeanor of a killer (but actually had the look of a nice guy if that makes any sense). It would be cool to see this mostly unknown go far!

KMRUNOUT

not only that but wasn't this a 2:30 match? all the others are 4:30 times.

Yeah. It's unreal. :frown:

They must have heard me.

Bartram over Niels 5 to 3. Yay!

Keith Bennett over Thorsten, 7 to 4.

Oliver still in the lead over Darren, 5 to 3.

Tommy Kennedy fighting back, has 6 and Shaw has 10.

Boyes and Wang now at 10 to 10.

Keith will just have to eat a TV dinner tonight, I'm afraid. :p
