Thursday 2013 U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship Thread

Per Barry Behrman, just now-

The US Open is trying to move back to the Chesapeake Conf Ctr next year. BB requested that all supporters email the mayors office to lobby some support.

There has been a lot of 11-1 victory's with this grouping of play. This includes Mika who has been on a,now, 44-4 run since the his early round loss!

Icon of Sin has graciously sent a few pictures of the venue.

This first one is a beautiful panoramic shot of the main tournament room. It's a little wide because it is a panoramic. I reduced it, but didn't want to reduce it too much, so that you all could see the facilities better. :)

Thank you, Icon of Sin.

You sure did reduce it: I see two people on the middle table and the guy in the red shirt sitting up front only has 1/3 of his head left.

Thanks for the updates to all.

Japanese kid plays good, but he's sh*tting out on Earl a bit, late in the match... :-(

Anybody know about this fellow "The dentist?" Got a soft spot for a guy who works all day and then mixes it up here.

Looks like some good matches coming up. Tears will be shed.

Somebody of the funny pic thread posted.

"What does not kill you will make you stronger. Except bears. Bears will kill you."

Looks like there are some bears out there today.

I knew I had his picture somewhere, and in searching for some other photos, I found it. Here's the David "The Dentist" Hunter.

I wonder whatever happened to that cool pool fish in Richmond. :D

what happened? archer ran a 10pack?

I sat ringside for this TV match. Lee Van was frozen to his seat. He may have got to the table just a few times for tough kicks before JA had a huge lead. LV did get one chance later on, but he was cold and dogged it. Johnny played freaking amazing that match; LV had zero chance.

It wasn't a "TV match." Johnny was on the streamed table for only two matches -- winning against Klatt on Thursday and losing to Shaw on Friday.
