Tiger x ferrlue change

Ive got a tiger x shaft .I like melimine ferrules so i wont to change it .HOW i do some repair work my self .Do i turn it down and ues the current ferrule as a tenon or do i machine it out and add a maple tenon ? This is my shaft not a customers just wanting to experiment a lil .Thanks RED

You'll want to just remove the entire ferrule and then add a new tenon. You can see by the pic...the TigerX ferrule is on the left...that drilling & threading a new tenon will be what you'll want to do. Also try the new Ivorine 4 ferrule material. Absolutely unbreakable, very clean - no trash specs at all, and hits wonderful. You'll like it much more than melamine. I might as well add...replace tip with a Sniper...in my opinion, and a lot of pro players, they play better than any other tip on the market.

Unless it has changed, the Tiger ferrule screws down into the shaft, (No wood Tenon)

Don't ask dumb questions...everyone knows its because when you play with an X shaft...your game will catch a gear & you quit missing balls! LOL!
You've heard of some players who "have another gear"...well its in their shaft!!!

Thanks Mr. Webb and Mr. Varney. I don't do repair work so I have never seen a Tiger Shaft so I thought it had a wood tenon.

The grey area of the ferrule in the illustration is cavity (airspace). These cavities add glue surface and also add strength to the lamination.

If one wants to switch to a conventional ferrule on one of our shafts (warranty is voided of course) your would cut the visible ferrule off, drill out the remaining ferrule in the wood, add a wood tenon then whatever ferrule material you like.

One nice thing about our shafts is that we do offer them in "blank" form so you can get the lamination benefits and use whatever ferrule, tip, joint, rings or taper that you want. We make 8 cuts before finish sanding and blanks are sold after the 4th cut. Prather and Atlas both carry these.

Really resist chalk stains better than anything too. Job well done. When word gets out...this will be the only ferrule used by a whole lot of makers. Thank you.

It machines fine and glues just as good as any other product I have ever used. I use Epoxy to glue on my ferrules. It is a nice white material, seems to be very strong and polished up very nice.

I have ordered more from Tiger Products.

Try the new Ivorine 4 rod from Atlas too. Its the strongest ferrule material made...ever...takes carbide to cut it. It will actually flatten the teeth right off a hack saw...
You have to love how clean & slick the Saber T is...looks better than anything. Probably as strong as Aegis. The Ivorine 4 has a weave look a lot like canvas resin...it will dull your drill bits, REAL FAST...but its absolutely unbreakable!!! The 4 is nothing like older versions...its very clean as polishes wonderful as well.
These are the only two ferrule options I'll be using...
