where did the middle finger over the fleshy part of the middle finger start?in the u.s? or europe?or what i like to call it the filipino bridge ,i call it that cuz i first saw efren use ita nd then i see a lot of pros use it as well , i tried to bridge that way but could not do it and was afraidsd to try it for fear of messing wit my stroke, but one day a few months ago al of a sudden i was shooting with it i i became more and more consistent ,and ever since then i wonderd were it originated? btw i posted a thread bout my nreves and i have found out that by talking or rambling really helps me i just hope i dont piss anyone off lol...

yeah it's bloody impossible!!!

i also don't understand how they do a raised closed bridge for a high ball shot. i can't do it.
 
well i thought is was impossible too but like i sed i was determined to play like the pros and i think if i can emmulate them i might be able to win a game or 2 but anyways all i can say it comes naturalit comes in very handy wen u use a powerstroke or for breaking ,remember an obidient body obeys the mind,so tell ureslf u can d this .but back to my qust where did it originate? what is the strangest bridge u have seen i saw this guy put the cue on his knucles for shooting over a ball...

I've never seen any pro make an abnormal bridge that I can't make. Sorry, I am not at all sure what kind fo bridge you are referring to.

i think they're talking about a closed bridge.

edit. bustamante's bridge is a little awkward for me (tip of index finger pressing on the middle finger between the first and second knuckle from the tip)

he's not the only one to use it but i've noticed he almost always uses it.

the open bridge gives you a better view of your aim line, no obstruction in view because of your finger
going over the shaft.

the closed bridge, in theory, is more accurate.

Most of the guys that use that bridge have long and/or skinny fingers. The filipinos also tend to use thinner shafts (under 13 mm) with a straighter taper. Parica is one filipino that does not use that bridge, but he has small hands with short fingers and prefers a 13 mm shaft. On a side note, many filipinos either play guitar themselves or at least have a family member that does so their fingers are very strong and flexible (maybe they're genetically inclined to use that bridge) :D . I myself have small hands with slightly thick fingers, so I can't completely cross my index finger over my middle finger, but about half of it or so.

Some people call it a crossover bridge. You put your index finger over the cue and on top of your middle finger. Go to youtube and watch Efren's closed bridge for an example.
 
thanxz sensation for the list , thats more less wayt i thought too, as far as accuracy i think its a combo of both bridge and stroke
