I recently spoke to a person who was friends with MC and TS, and he spent a lot of time around the shop. I asked him if they made very many 6 point cues because i havent seen very many, and he said he thought they only made 10 or 15 total.

does that seem correct? does anyone have a TS 6 point cue they want to share some pics of?

Here is mine, but I think you have seen it before.

I just this week acquired a stunning TS 6 pointer, big pin, ivory joint. I'm out of town today but will post pics when I return.

It would be interesting if one of our TS experts could comment on how common these 6 point TS cues are.

I recall recently Nick S. was asking for az'ers to post pics of 5-veneered TS cues. Didn't seem like there were an abundance of those either.

Best,

I had a killer 6 ointer that I let go... :(

No pics on this puter or I would post them up.

They are on my back up drive in my safe

I also would be curious how many were made.

Happy Holidays,

Russ....

I have my 6 pt monster! It's the only all ebony 6 pt scruggs I've ever seen.

From 1995-2000 I did Tim Scruggs website. I had pictures of every cue that was made in that shop (except for the sneaky petes) during that time for posting on the website.

I can only remember of seeing less then 6 six point cues in that time.

I think it would be safe to say that there are less then 30 six point cues made during Tim's career.

To have one, in my mind, is fairly special and to have an all ebony one is rare.

Tony & Trob; nice cues! Wow!

Here's the one I just got.

I'm not sure what the forearm wood is, maybe someone can help id it. I thought maybe just dark stain on curly maple but I think it may be otherwise.

Ebony butt, 6 ebony points w/black, red, natural, red veneers, big pin, solid ivory joint, elephant ear wrap. Sweet!

Tony, interesting insight on how many you saw during that period. Thanks for sharing that.

Merry Christmas!

Best,
Brian kc

Two more pics hoping for some help id'ing the forearm wood.

The butt and points are jet black ebony.

This wood in the forearm, that's not a different ebony, is it?

Best,
Brian kc
P.S. Trob, do we have the same veneers?

I picked up this one a little while back from another AZ'er. Hard to believe there's so few of them, I'd have thought there were more. This one's never been chalked.

Looking at it, I think the forearm is stained birdseye.

I had a 6 point scruggs. It was all snakewood. Ivory joint and ferrules. It was in the early 90s. Think it was worth about 1500 back then or so. What would a cue like that be worth nowadays? The butt was plane, just 6 points all snakewood.

I would hold onto it for a little longer. It should only go up in value.
