The clover cue is a one off and completely my design in collaboration with Tim in about 1979 or 1980. Talking with Tim, Bob Frey and Gus on the phone back then and visiting with Ray Schuller and Dale Patten was the beginning of understanding cue construction and design. To this day I can still hear Tim saying in his Southern accent that the ivory ferrules are "glued on and screwed on." :). I've preferred 3/8-10 ivory jointed cues since this time. Tim and Bob made me an awesome 4 point 4 veneer "Rambow" (now called Hoppe) style cue with stained birdseye front, smooth leather wrap and ivory diamonds in the points that was a downright great cue. Great memories. I'd love to see my other Scruggs or Gus cues here sometime.

My first impression when I viewed the floating points cue,......even though you clearly stated Tim as the cue-maker.......was what a great Bert Schrager design. I don't recall seeing many like that from Tim.

I Tim called once to order a Floating pointer.

Tim said he stopped building them because everything he built would sell right away except the floating point Cues. They always reminded me of a new twist on a box Cue. Especially Tim's.
How did I snagged one this fancy and a modern 19 oz weight. I could have never afforded one in 98 like this. The almost 4 oz shaft is nice too.
It would have been $2300 range in 98.
So double that today. I remember Mez had a very nice one years ago.
Amazing Cue to gaze upon.
