It's amazing the intricacies’ these guys are capable of doing in their cues....extremely beautiful TS cue -- congrats ;)

fantastic looking cue. when was it made, it looks new. I love the stuff that comes out of his shop.... Autographed too!!!

88'-92' era

It's a 1988 to 1992 TS original and has been my Sunday driver for a few years now. I just brought it back from Tim and Mike's shop day after Thanksgiving.

Before Tim retires, I wanted him to make some additions to the cue. Some new inlays in between the cocobola points and a new Ivory joint.
And yes it's has a monster hit! It's a ball makin' machine!

Shafts are all brand new 4 1/4 oz, 13.2 mm Ivory ferrules. 1 shaft has Mike Cochran's new special taper.

The butt has a total of 92 Ivory and abalone inlays. What really amazes me is that each collar has 24 individual Ivory inlays. It's made to look like 2 thin Ivory rings with 8 diamonds, The camera doesn't show it, but up close you can see it. The intricacies of the inlays are just phenomenal.

Tim and Mike do some amazing work as most every one knows ,and this one's
staying in the case, sorry it's not for sale!

holy $___ I thought those were double rings with diamonds not 24 individual inlays! I'd have to get another cue from those guys before tim retires too. I don't think either have plans to retire any time soon last I heard. but then again it's hard to know unless you talk to the guys directly. Tim's not planning on retirement is he?

Which shaft do you play with most?

Very, very nice and unique Scruggs you've got there.

Is there any drastic differences from the normal Scruggs taper, which i like a lot.

Shaft taper

As far as I can tell 2 of the shafts are tapered identically and very close to the normal way Tim makes them. The 3rd shaft has a longer, more gradual taper which Mike asked me to give him some feedback on after using it for a while. I haven't chalked it up yet. Tim assured me that it is definately a one of a kind, but most of his creations are anyway.

As far as what I know about Tim's retirement, I didn't ask, and he didn't tell either. It seems to me he's having way too much fun making guys like us smile and appreciate his work. When the day does come though, there will be a lot of folks that wished they'd put their order in I'm sure:D

Too cool!

That just puts a smile on my face. I have never seen any rings like that on a Sruggs cue before. I bet it was hard to wait for that baby! I love the ivory and fancy rings.
Nick :)

Thanks

Thanks to every one for the appreciation! I must admit I was loaded with anticipation when I got the phone call that it was done.

Nick and few others around here know the joy of dealing with these guys. It makes you feel like a little kid again just knowing you're gonna get something special.

Mike , thanks for the kind words.

I couldn't resist asking Mike and Tim to make me another cue, so I loaded up the car with some really nice wood I'd been hoarding, and gave it to them for the next project. I also gave them a few extra pieces, including some prized bird's eye maple forearm blanks that were over 100 years old. That put a smile on Tim's face from ear to ear as he was checking them out.

Now the wait starts all over again, but I know it'll be well worth it.

Very sharp looking cue. Im sure it plays very very well. I have one of your cousins cues that he made for me and I love it. I also have a TS sneaky and I love his taper..........................best
