Photos edited out for space consumption.

Well, one thing I can tell you about Tim Scruggs, at least with any dealings I've had with him. If he gives you a date you can pretty much set your watch and calendar to it. I've ordered from Tim 2 or 3 times in the past and each time he was easy to deal with and spot on with delivery times. One cue he actually got to me 3 months early.

Nice cue by the way :D

I have a 5 veneer stainless-piloted Scruggs Cue that is very simular to your ivory joint cue!
Sweet cues!
Nick :)

You should post some pics of all your Scruggs cues. I would love to see them, past and present. You seem to have quite a few of them. I especially like the cue you have for sale. Good luck on it

Seconded, i would love to see them too!

I have 5 Scruggs. 3 are ss joints, one is solid ivory which has a hit that is awesome. However, I have one of Tim's older cues with a micarta joint and it has an amazing hit also. Here are pics. The top one is a solid ivory radial pin joint and the bottom one is a piloted 5/16x14 micarta joint.

Ok, so we're hitting Scruggs now. My main playing cue is a James White but my Scruggs is one helluva cue. I wouldn't trade it for anything, and I mean that. Gus Szamboti could come back to life and toss me his entire line and I wouldn't trade for this cue.....well, maybe I would, but you know what I mean.

I bought this cue used for 900.00. Sent photos to Tim asking if he had any idea how old it is and he said it's probably from around 1983 or so. Love this cue with all my heart. I orginally bought it for resale, because it was so cheap, but I hit one ball with it and knew right then that selling it wasn't an option. It's fairly simple but I hope you guys like it.

Put some maple box/dash in the butt of that cue and it was my birthday present in 1989.

Like a big dummy I sold it 2 years later in Europe along with my Flowers case for like $1200, which at the time was like 2x what I paid for it.

I intended to have Tim build me a better cue, but life got in the way, and I never got another Scruggs.

It was the best balanced cue I ever hit with, dead nuts 20.0 ounces on a deli scale but felt weightless. Dennis Hatch hit some with it at Baker's in 1990 and kept saying how light it was, he wanted to bet me $50 it weighed 18 or less.

Really, really nice cues. The micarta joint cue is one of my favorites.

well, thanks for ruining my day by making me drool over cues i could never afford.

i've owned two of his sneakys over the years, and both hit lights out. I live in maryland where he's based out of so a lot of local players around here have nice scruggs's, im lucky enough to have been able to shoot with a nice scruggs for a while, man i wanted to beat up my friend and steal the cue but he knew where i lived at the time :(

both times i owned the sneakys, i was flat busted and needed the cash, and sold them for 300+ so i had to do it, but man did it hurt. even moreso the second time because i knew how bad it hurt the first time.

i've played with and shot with many top quality cues (cc, sambozti, lots of black boars, lambroses, freys, buskas, capones, etc. etc.) and no other cue has impressed me with looks and playability than a timmy.

so anyone of you with those drool-worthy collections, if you ever want to throw a sneaky or a plain 4-pointer my way, i would be more than happy to trade you any organs or first born children for one.

Mystery Cue

I purchased this a few years ago as a Scruggs made for a road player in 84 who requested no signature. I showed it to Joe (Classic Cues) and he concurs. Tim said he didn't remember. Origional finish and wrap.
I would appriciate any comments.
Thanks, Purdman

I added a few more pictures. Do you guys think I should have it refinished? Keep it as it is?

Can't imagine playing with anything else!

Love both of my Timmy Scruggs cues!

The six pointer is my regular player, but I bring out the four pointer at least once a week and enjoy playing with it just as much. There are some subtle differences between the way they both play (besides the different grip material), but they are both great players! They each have their own unique "ping" on a well struck shot.

I fell in love with the ivory joint (and ferrules) from day one and haven't wanted to go back to SS.

Same here mate. I tried just about every joint combination and knew as soon as i hit with mine it was the one for me.

I remember seeing your 6 pointer in the cue gallery, another one of my favorites.

As far as I am concerned, you cant get better than Tim or Mike for craftsmanship and playability. I would put either of my Cochrans up against any cue for comparison. They just dont get any better. I got an ivory and steel joint cues. Nick has one my old Scruggs J/B that played better than most other cues. As I said, in my mind, it doesnt get any better. Just my .02.
