Time for a break(stick)!

I'm considering getting a new break stick, have a Lucasi L200JC so I don't need a jump/break, and have been considering a few.

The choices so far are the Predator BK no wrap for $300, the Mezz Power Break II for $312, and the original Mezz Power Break for $200.

I don't have the possibility to try any in advance so I need to make the right call the 1st time if I buy one.

Currently for a breaker I am using the shaft which came with my Viking, upgraded to a 314 for shooting, with an added phenolic tip/ferrule combo.

I can bust them pretty well but CB control is an issue.

Any and all advice is appreciated in advance.

What I would say ...

Many custom cue makers make

Sneaky Pete versions for breaking with special break tips
Custom Break and/or Break/Jump sticks with special tips

If I had one made, I would use a hard pro lamenated tip in lieu of
a phenolic tip (like a Talisman or Hercules)

or I would look at the Jerico Stinger, which is getting
its share of raves. (with special patent on the tip/ferrule used)

I use a custom made Shurtz Sneaky Pete with SS joint and
a hard Hercules tip for breaking, and it does just fine
(Bob used to make them for $190, but they may have
gone up a little since then)

I've heard the Mezz Power Break is a great stick for the price. i think the Power Break II is 4 inch shorter than a normal cue and i dont think i'd be able to adjust to that! I've got a BK and i'm happy with it but if i was looking to replace it i'd probably go for a Stinger.

I use a Predator BK... no wrap... and I like it... a very solid hit.

Haven't tried the others.

John Parker makes the BreakRAK Cues. They are $275. The last group was made from Cocobolo, the next group will be made from Bocate. The cues are great & John Parker of Auerbach Cues guarantees his work.
