Time of day to install?

I'm going to have my 7' Valley table recovered with 3030 tour edition in the next week or two. The table is in a screened room in Tampa, FL= (very humid a lot of the time.)

My thinking is to have the mechanic install it as tight as normal in the morning so it will become tighter as the humidity drops. Does this sound right to the mechanics on here? Thank you for your responses. Johnnyt

Johnny, I've said it before, cloth does not shrink once it's gotten wet, only heat shrinks the cloth. Humidity causes the cloth to absorb moisture, which causes the cloth to somewhat come loose;)

I just figured if I ask the mechanic to put it on like he would on any indoor table when it was very humid out that when the humidity dropped the cloth would become nice and tight. Johnnyt

So when the sun rises and the temperature gets hotter.......would cloth then lose its moisture from being heated then shrink back to normal.

Drying out moisture is not the same thing as heat shrinking cloth! Cloth is not like leather which once wet will shrink when dried out. Cloth is made from sheep's wool, hair if you really want to know, and nylon....and both are not subject to shrinkage when wet then dried out. Does the hair on your head shrink after you wash it and dry it? Does 100 yards of nylon fishing string shrink up to 90 yards once you cast it out into the water while fishing?;)

I did not need a 100 yards but i did need a day off.:thumbup:

Nylon is hygroscopic and yes the dimensions change with additional moisture and also with less moisture.

Nylon is very unstable dimensionally but it is very strong.

That looks a bit off topic to me !!!! nice looking fish though.. you should measure the hundred yards before and after next time :rotflmao1::rotflmao1:
