You have to take it as a job !
I've staked a bunch of pool players over the years & all the A players & pro's have took a part of their lives where they played 8 hrs a day or so..everyday & when they practiced they practiced the right things...Jack Hynes got to pro speed about as fast as anybody that I've klnown & he did it when he was 20...He never played before & his parents were well off & he told them he wanted to be a pro pool player so they hired a teacher for 2 years & Jack was taught from the get go all the right things to do...." ON THE POOL TABLE"...lol....myself...even tho i've been around world class pool alot is I kinda self taught myself when I opened a Restaurant & Bar years ago & picked up all kinds of bad habit to go with it like jumping up on shots etc...I got to where I could compete on a local level but it would have taken me to actually get lessons to try & undue the damage I did to myself & by the time I realized that I loss the time plus alot of the passion....but back to the original O P question....2 years is about the norm with all things being equal.
