I just tried to write a short post. It timed me out before I could finish. This is why I will stay on FB. This forum is too frustrating in so many different ways its just not worth the time anymore. And this is just one of many reasons why I don't visit here often.

gotta remember today is the day when many, many , many people will do things on line in prep for Christmas. cabelas , bass pro, ebay, etc are probably straining at the seams. I've sent out one order, heading back online for another.

Soooo...what were you going to write if you hadn't timed out?
..is this going to be like the lost chord?

2nd try

It was about slow play. Some guy was complaining about slow players. I have been playing a long time and have met only 1 player that played well and played slow.

chapter 3

There are a lot of things that might slow an experienced player down. I was playing on fast cloth and tight pockets this week when I usually play on crappy equipment and that slowed me down.

chapter 4

I was giving weight and that slowed me down because I was being more careful with my shots and playing position.

Slow typer's long winded people ....like me.

On most forums I need to copy b4 hitting the send or post key....just in case

chapter 5

MY experience has been when a player starts whining about someone playing slow, its usually to try to get an edge. If someone wants to play on a 40 second shot clock like they do at the Derby on the TV table, as long as BOTH players are on the clock, I have no problem with that, but its funny that NO ONE has ever taken me up on that bet.

When you log in be sure to check the "remember me" box. Then you won't be timed out.
It drove me crazy until I learned that.

Happy black Friday.
Ironic, you don't like slow players but you write so slow the forum gave you a timeout.:rotflmao1:

That's what I was thinking, Mike....:killingme:

This is great info...never knew that...I'm always 'remember me' on my own stuff...
....but I've been timed out at cyber cafes.
thanx

I find if im on a forum and going to post a long one that i use a text editor then copy and paste. No worries about timeout.

No, you misunderstood me. I don't care how long you take, kinda, unless its a ridiculous amount of time. I have only met one player who plays REALLY slow that plays well, and I am ok with that too, but I think peoples definition of slow play varies from player to player.

If I am playing for grins and giggles, I play faster than when I'm giving weight and gambling or playing in a tournament. I am more deliberate then. I watched JA play a guy races for $50 one time and he was having conversations on the side with different people and the poor guy was dead serious and playing his heart out and Johnny was still winning big, so I think it also has a lot to do with the skill level of the players involved, the game, and a lot of different factors figure into the speed at which any game is played.

Down here in the Ozarks we have a lot of guys who cut firewood for a living. We also have a lot of hills.
Last week a fellow with a pick-up full of firewood took a curve too fast and rolled down a hill into a deep holler. The slope was so steep he walked away from it all.
My question to you, pt, is this. Was this a lost cord?

It is indeed unfortunate that you were not computer literate enough to know to write
anything longer than a short paragraph in something like notepad, then cut-and-paste
at your leisure.

Hello Dale, my name is Steve Doyle, and this is why me and a lot of other players who can actually play some stay away from this forum.

Hi Steve
I really didn't misunderstand you, I was laughing because from the way it was worded at first some could assume what you were trying to say and before I could finish reading everything you had written, I busted up laughing.

The topic seems to be about slow players and you didn't write your original thread fast enough and got a time out.
Then you got really frustrated and wrote this thread.

No offense but when most people get frustrated they are funnier then $hit.

The best remedy is to write it up on "word" and then all you have to do is copy/paste.
It happened to me a few years ago.

Your frustration and reaction thereto are unfortunate.

As a couple people said, you can write your post elsewhere and then copy and paste it here. But that is unnecessary for solving your issue.

As carguy said in post #10 (I don't know whether you read it and understood it, since you haven't acknowledged it yet) -- when you log in with your user name and password, there is a third box next to the words "Remember Me?" Just click that box and you can take however long you need to compose your post; it will not time you out.

Stick around and contribute. It's not all bad here.
