TIP question

Okay I've been shooting with Elk Master tips for the english i can apply and how well they hold chalk. I like them but I've noticed that I really don't get the total feel and hit I want from the tip until its almost time for a new one. (you can finally hear and feel the hit) But on the other end a LePro tip is to hard. Should I move up to a medium?? What do you suggest???

If you are looking for that good sounding hit, you should use a Triangle. As cheap as ElkMaster, but a much firmer hit, and it lasts much longer and holds shape better too.

anyone else have an opinion? will the triangle hold chalk as well as elk master w/o the glaze?

I agree that the triangle is a terrific tip, but i hate elkmasters with a passion (feels like a piece of bubble gum to me).

To answer your question, i've never had a problem with triangles not holding chalk.

I had always used triangle tips. Last year I switched to Sniper and haven't looked back. I never really had any issues with a Triangle. For me, they held their shape well and required little maintenance.

Good luck,
Craig

Try a Royal Oak tip. It's a 2 on the hardness scale compared to 1 for Elkmaster and 3 for LePro. I have Royal oaks on both my cues - gives a good hit, holds chalk well and doesn't mushroom as bad as Elkmaster.
