Jon,

It has been found no matter how I answer that question it causes a ruckus. If you like the tip use it, if you don't like the tip don't use it. I am under a non disclousure so thats about as far as that goes.

This comes under the heading of "Intellectual Property" - no need for us to know how they're made, just that we like them and our customers like them.

My 2 cents,

Gary

Wow Gary, I like that. Can I use it if I give you some tips?:)

Tom,

That is a common phrase and is a huge problem in AsiaPac with stolen electronics designs.

I should have piped up in that other thread

You don't have to give me any tips - though I don't have any HH's -

We all love your tips and sincerely appreciate your support of us and our customers.

Thanks for your answers!

I don't need to "know", but I prefer to know the origin like I do with quite some other products I use. Normally I am also interested in having an idea whether I will be able to rebuy a product I like in the future.

I do also understand that sellers want to keep some secrets about the manufacturer, supply and country of origin, and I don't expect total transparency, but I still like to know as much as the seller wants to share (who doesn't?). That was the reason for my question. I didn't really think he was making them him self, but if he did, it would be nice to know because I like his tips.

Anyway the answers gave me enough info for a pretty good assumption about where the tips are made.

In general Tom Hay gives more info and specs about his tips than most others, supports tournaments and even chimes in here on az. I do really appreciate that and I like his tips.

Thanks again,
-Jon Birger

"always make sure you inspect the staft and ferrule before you quote any price."

And preferably outdoors in good light!!! I constantly take work at league (dim lighting), don't inspect it and get home and "WTF is this?" LOL

Recently I replaced a tip on a shaft 3 times - it kept popping off. Finally I asked "What kind of cue did this come from?" "An Athena" was the answer. I said "Give me one more chance, I know what the problem is now". Took the shaft home, replaced the ferrule with one I knew would stick. No more popping off.

Problem solved, reputation saved.
