Tips that don’t require sanding to install

I install tips. For most tips, I sand them flat before installing.
The Kamui Clear, Rhino Time Crystal and Caiden Fighter have flat glueing surfaces that install well without any sanding.
Are there other brands out there that don’t require sanding to be flat?

Isn’t the purpose of sanding to create a more porous surface for the glue?

Not to be argumentative but I even sand the Kamui Clear. They are not flat. The surface is concave. I know they say you don't have to but you really should. It's the one tip out of 50 or so that popped off on me.

If you want to avoid problems, it's best to sand them all, a light sanding will show if they are flat or not.

I am an amateur at installing tips and was unaware that you didn't have to sand. I wouldn't mind trying to install tips without sanding. I presume you only wipe the tip with alcohol, dry, and superglue. Correct?

How did poster LDMitchell find this out? Did the manufacturer state this? Did you check tips and found this to be true?

The Kamui Clear and the Rhino Time Crystal tips have a plastic bottom but not the Caiden Fighter. If you have had good luck installing Kamui Clear without sanding? That is better than me who did sand and it came off.

I feel that CA bonds best with clean flat surfaces. When installing leather tips, like Ultraskins, I sand flat with 220, then apply a layer of CA. I let the glue soak in for a moment, spray it with accelerant then sand flat again before installing.
It all takes time. And when sanding care must be taken to make it really flat.
When using epoxy, break tips, then I do want a rough surface.

Whatever works for you works. Why would you not want to sand? (reference to no sand tips)
Me.. I have small piece of 80 grit and sand the glue side on a flat metal surface. The ferrule gets faced and swiped with an alcohol pad. I mask the ferrule with blue tape. Apply CA and press/hold on lathe. Have done enough to make the process go quickly. I will never vary. Fresh CA and cleanliness works everytime so far.
I alway work alone... if I'm tipping for a friend they have to stay in the corner to avoid being distracted😂.
