Another " Shot In The Dark " I have this Titlist Conv. I picked up with a McDermott, No markings... import pin or a knock-off of a " radial like but not pin "...Any suggestions would be great as to possible cue maker that converted this cue & value as is.." My first Tileist "...:o

Cue

Try the for sale /wanted section...although it doesn't seem like there's a lot for identification purposes. The pin is a radial.

'Radial' is a trade-name for the Uni-Loc version of the ball-screw thread.
What you have there is either an import pin or a knock-off.
The Uni Radial has IIRC, 7.65 tpi then the alignment-barrel begins.
The pin you're showing has 9 threads exposed and no barrel in sight.
I've heard of 3/8x8 ball-screw and maybe that's what you have.
It's just not a Radial.

..I changed my first post...so I hope it helps people to ID it..

do you know who made the cue??
what would you value it at...with import or knock off parts does it effect the value where I should change the pin or is best to sell it and cut my loss??

It sure looks exactly like the Uni-Loc Radial pins I used to buy and still have. These were the first versions sold to the public. They had a short (1/2") unthreaded center section and 9 exposed threads above the barrel.

Apparently Paul has knowledge of a version that I haven't seen before, that's easily possible.
A quick scrutiny of the aforementioned tooling should give evidence as to what you have.
Where did you buy your tooling, specifically the tap?
I ask this question because I happen to know that one supplier sells one version and the other doesn't.
They each sell the corresponding tooling.
I just thought of a third but it may not matter depending on your response.

The seams in the veneer say Titlist, not Prather. Same with the fuzzy tip of the point.
Paul may be correct, but I thought all the real uni-locs were electro polished. That one
sure seems to have machining marks. I don't see anything on the cue that helps identify any particular cuemaker.
It is a nice looking conversion, the veneer colors have held up well.

I agree about the electro polishing but the picture is a little blurry. On the other hand I just received a couple dozen Radial screws from Atlas that weren't polished so I did it myself. The cue is a Titlist. If I could figure how to post a picture of an early screw I would.

I'm now convinced that what you have is a Uni-Loc Radial, albeit an early version as suggested by Mr Dayton.
Atlas only sells the genuine Radial tap and not the import version.
Aside from the pics of the pin, your statement of "3/8x8" was a red-flag. The Radial is not 3/8x8.
It may be close but I'd hate to see someone try to interchange them.
