We have the best of two worlds in my house. My wife and my kids are Catholic and I'm Jewish. Very cool holiday timing this year.

Something that always struck me strange-
Jews had been in Germany since the 13th and 14th century, they were an intricate part of the German society in the middle ages- the Yiddish language is a reflection of that interweaving.
