I haven't gone the expensive chalk route but am considering the Toam v10 for my home table because it is supposed to be much cleaner. I have blue cloth. Has anyone noticed a difference between the blue and green? I'll probably still use Masters at the pool hall.

There was a thread a while back when blue came out. The general consensus is that blue isn't quite as good as green. I have tournament blue and the green really isn't an issue. It's super clean. Eventually you may see some light green on your table but it's not much. To clean a table, after vacuuming, take a cap full of woolite in a bucket of hot water. Wet a microfiber towel in the water and wring it out as much as you can. Wipe the table.

When I used masters and that type of chalk, the water would be just dark blue and require a couple wipings, even after 3 months. With Taom V10 green, even after 2 years of playing on the cloth the water wasn't green. Just kind of a white with a bit of grey tint to the water, probably from hand oil and such.

If you're used to traditional chalk, you'll be amazed at how clean this stuff is.

Taom or Pagulauan chalk is perfect for the home because it is indeed so much clearer. You'll clean the balls and table less for sure. I use both the Pagulauan blue and the taom green. The green actually has an advantage of being visible on the cloth rather than blending in. Counter intuitive, I know, but it is a subtle reminder to clean the cloth. Don't think I'm saying it is messy....it's very clean, and again, the residue is very very little. You'll be very happy with either

I have tournament blue cloth and the green taom works fine
As mentioned above, I personally also did not find the blue to perform as well as the green

Ask yourself one question, how did people survive for over 100 years with out super Chalk? Dr. Dave has done numerous SHOOTOUTS on Claks, what bestwhay is BS, and the many has a PHD. I use Silver Cup Green, because I got a Dozen Old Peaches at Estate Sale. STUFF WORKS.

Super dup3r Chalk is the last BS to sell a pricy product, I remember all the sucker who paid $79.95 For The Secrets of Perfect Aiming, and it was noting but BULLS***.

This is the post of the year. I too base my chalk decisions based on fruit I obtain from yard sales and estate liquidations. I'm open to claks, but I don't want to disturb the balance of my chakras, so green usually. It's obviously just common sense, but sometimes it's still worth repeating for those that need to hear it

Enjoy the filth. I only have to clean my table once every 6 months now and the water comes back magnitudes cleaner than when I used to do it once a month.

1 round of taom/cube of pagulayan lasts over a year. That's less than 5 cents a day. The money I save on woolite soap alone is a greater savings than buying cheaper chalk.

The reason they survived over 100 years on the old style? Because it was all they had, and it wasn't life and death.

For the slow kids in the back, chalk is chalk is chalk. You are paying for cleanliness and potentially greater coverage. I know it's hard to believe, because Dr. Dave didn't specifically say so, but Taom sticks to a tip better than Masters. Dr. Dave is a great resource but when a human is using the stick in his tests, the methodology is more back yard science than rigorous peer reviewed study. No chalk causes or prevents miscues. Taom is cleaner and my backyard experiment of actually maintaining my table and not seeing blue dots all over the cueball is as scientific as any results produced by someone with a doctorate and non-rigorous testing methods.

I ain't buying it because I think I'll play better. I'm buying it to keep my table clean like everyone says it does.

I have posted about chalk for many years and TAOM is the only chalk to make me eat humble pie.
Dr. Dave is a pool expert icon and no one comes close to demonstrating his expertise, easy to
understand explanations and use of video illustrations. I believe, and still do, all chalks perform alike.

Creating friction is the desired outcome and any chalk will accomplish that, however, the chalk debris
that unavoidably ensues stroking a cue ball is so minuscule with TAOM, aka Pagulayan Chalk, that its
users swear by how clean their pool tables, cues, ferrules, cue ball & hands remain after hours of play.

The cost of the chalk is more than offset with the purchaser’s satisfaction and results. A single piece of
TAOM chalk, oval or cube, should last a really long time unless the purchaser cores a hole in the chalk.
No matter how much you spend for a piece of chalk, its life expectancy is cut short by stupid chalking.

Well, if cleanliness is not important to you, understanding of course you are making a mess needlessly
on the cloth that can influence the way any object ball, or even the cue ball, can roll to make you miss,
well, it really sounds like you can’t understand or appreciate why so many of your peers swear by TAOM.

This is the exact point. As far as chalk goes in terms of play, it really doesn't matter. But, as far as cleanliness goes, nothing beats the Taom V10 green. I can play for an hour without washing my hands once. Table and balls only need rare cleaning. Plus, my last V10 lasted 14 months.

Worth every penny-

Buy one of each, and report.🥸

Better yet sick with the "M" Brand, and save money.🤒
X2. I have been using taom blue and green for the past year. I just switched back to master a few weeks ago. The taoms did not stick to my predator tip as good as master does. I was miscueing frequently with the taom. I havent miscued once since switching back. The designer chalks are a huge waste of money......Almost as bad as buying name brand gloves.
