Todays Sneaky Pete cues

maybe your young lol but the first sneaky Pete’s were exactly that. They looked like a 1 piece . I have one that I could put in a rack and you’ll never know. at some point they got fancy. If you put a collar and a butt cap on it it’s no longer sneaky just a wrap less cue. To me there is a difference. I don’t have a problem with it.. it’s just not a sneaky.

Who cares what an apa 2 carry’s in their case. They are supporting the game if they can afford it let them buy it. Pool always seems to get in their feelings about that. In golf a 20 handicap buys a new $1k driver and no cares. Lol we just ask to hit a ball with it to check it out.

Golf is a great analogy here. Especially since it has exploded after the pandemic. Sure, let people buy whatever they want and can afford, but the reality is that something like 2-5% of people that play are actually decent golfers.

So you see someone that looks like Instagram threw up on them, with a $500 outfit and 3k in the latest gear and you roll your eyes when they slice their drive off the first into the next fairway, or pull out a wood for a 160yd par 3 or miss a putt by 5ft with their Cameron.
They are into the idea playing golf more than they are being a player. It’s a stigma same as with pool.

Schmelke makes a SP that looks like a house cue. I know because I own one and someone mistook it for a house cue.
They put it in the house rack. It took 15 mins to find it searching the wall racks looking and this cue is inexpensive too.

i usually told people watch out im really good at pool. this way i can also say i told you so. then they want to play you.

what they bet and how much they lose depends on how you are beating them not on your cue or how you are shooting.

then you can stall and play anyway you want.

if you are trying to hustle drunks for two dollars a game you need more than a sneaky pete to survive for long.

The only sneaky pete that looks like a house cue is a house cue. Nobody that can play is fooled by "sneaky petes". If you want to look like you don't know what you are doing get a purple Cuetec or gaudy Walmart cue. And after a rack or two you aren't fooling anybody :)
I grew up in Racine during the Sailor period and many were buying his sneakys that were really hard to tell from a house cue at 1st glance. You had to look really close to find the joint. Being in Racine, they were a really popular item and many of my friends had them. You had to keep a real close eye on them when you were out shooting as they were always getting confused with the house cues. I never bought one for this very reason.

the only real reason for true sneakys is they are cheaper and if you lose it or it gets warped in your car or something it isnt such a loss.

your not going to fool someone with one.

you can get cheaper cues than a Sneaky Pete for that purpose

oh i didn't know, makers or companies had cheaper cues than a sneaky which is the plainest cue in anyone's line.

you got me on that one skor. i think?

SP is a full splice cue, 4 points. Cheapest that I found was $120
You can get a decent plain jane for a $100, you can get a CF cue for a $100 that will last longer in the car

I forgot I have one of these stashed in the closet.

Not a bad cue.
