Tom Hay contact number? (Ultraskin and SIB tips)

Actually I sent him an email asking him to call. He did. He talked to me for quite a while. It was a real pleasure. He seems like a great guy and I am very excited to try the batch of SIB tips I ordered!!

Is this the same as the G2 tip you were peddling a month ago? Curious, you said it played good, no? Changed your mind?

That's odd that you spoke with him.... I recall tom saying in a post that he was mute and had no chance of phone communication......

Kerry installs tips in my area. Obviously he gets to try out pretty much every playing and break tip out there.

He's not mute, but he doesn't hear too well so talking with him will take a little patience. Tommy D.

Peddling? I think you have me confused with someone else. I wasn't selling anything.

I did however ask people for opinions on the new style of G2 tips.

I have found G2 tips to play excellent. I've never tried SIB tips so regardless of the quality of G2, I can't know how the SIB tip plays until I try it.

The wording of your post sounds confusingly unfriendly. Did I miss something?

You're confused lol! Not being "unfriendly"! Maybe my Greek to English translation doesn't cross over well all the time.

Sorry for the confusion, English is not my first language so sometimes things get confused! It's my fault, I'm learning😆

I put an SIB pro on my fisher a few weeks ago. I have to say that tip plays pretty amazing. I did have to cut it down a bit to get the feedback where I like it, but man does it play nice.

This is, and is not, what I want to hear. Is, because I have an assortment of SIB tips coming, and is not because damn it I can't wait!!

Ok Eli no worries. I think the word "peddling" has some negative connotations.

Actually, my impressions of the new style G2 vs the old style is that I preferred the old style. When I cut a tip with a sharp blade, I like to see a nice sturdy thick ribbon of leather come off. I like this not just because it looks cool, but because it seems to correlate with a great playing tip with a feel I like. The newer ones have more of a dusty loose ribbon of leather that comes off. Could be just the few I've done, could be the batch I got, could be an intentional change, could be a bad memory of the old ones. Who knows. That's what I was trying to find out in my other post.

I've always thought UltraSkin tips were "ok". Great for the money, but I tended to prefer other tips. The SIB tip seems more up my ally, and I was all ready to try it. Then after speaking with Tom, I'm extremely eager!

I will post my findings here.

Very impressed with SIB Pro and Medium

I have one of each on two of the same shafts. They feel and play differently. The SIB pro gives a softer hit and less speed on the cue ball if you need to play soft shots and hold the cue for defense I would go with a SIB Pro. If you are playing bar room pool on a slow table or big heavy cue ball I would recommend the SIB medium. To me going harder than a SIB medium defeats the purpose and you might as well get a LePro.

These tips give excellent response feel through the shaft for very accurate cue placement for positioning and defense.

These have replace my Elk Master and LePro tips, much much better than both and not super expensive like other layered tips.
