i just met this guy from boston last night tommy D'alfonso can anyone tell me just how strong he is? and he is looking for some action hanging out at a new billiard room in florence kentucky called kick shots they just got 2 new 9 foot diamonds. tommy beat johnny brumback a week ago well tommy lost the first match for a 1000 and then he beat johnny the second night for 2500
in a hour 10 ahead. im not sure how to evaluate that since brumback hardly plays anymore. and those matches were not played on the diamonds but on gold crowns. and the say shannon murphy wont play him but shannon offered to play him a set for 5000 at kickshots and a set at michaels billiards
on a real tight table 1. one of the tightest diamond pockets known and tom wouldnt do it. so with maybe no murphy match hes kinda hanging dry
im not sure how much longer hes in town either.

Give the young man some action if it is out of line I'm sure he will adjust if it is needed.

Send him (SHORTY) south to JOB in NASHVILLE.

A tourney is starting FRIDAY (8-10) night and I'm sure PICKLE, HENNESSEE, etc. will try him some.:)

Actually, I heard that Hennessee (Pinegar) might be coming up to Northern Kentucky to get into action with D' Alfonso. But then, as you know, you hear all kinds of things in the pool hall!

it is a state amateur tournament they have it every year.pretty good turn out usually.I am sure Pickle will play him,but it will be on a bar table.

hey if you see tommy tell him chad from toledo says hi and to get a hold of me i got him action o and i havnt seen him play in like a year but if the guy hes playin isnt a pro i got my money on tommy

I hope no one comes in this thread speed-dropping.
I understand you want to know how strong he plays, just for the sake of knowing, but you have to understand that a lot of players visit this site, and having a guys name, picture, and knowing his speed can surely ruin his action just about any pool hall he goes inside of.

I was told Tony Chohan was in Cookeville ,Tn. at the cue and matched up with Bobby Pickle. Hennessee and Chohan are suppose to play a two set match this weekend too. Alfonso needs to make his way to Cookeville. The action has fired back up there.

AZE, you know I am beginning to doubt that line of thinking. When a guy's picture, name and some proclamation of how well they play is posted on an Internet Forum, I don't believe it RUINS HIS ACTION.

In fact, I am starting to believe that it INCREASE THEIR CHANCE OF ACTION. I see people like Schmidt, Incardona, Macias, Chohan, Tony Watson and others STAYING IN ACTION and their names, pictures and the matches that they are playing are posted all over the Internet.

Yes, I think maybe the old saying, "any advertisement is good advertisement". In this case, my thinking is that people read the information about different players and then start to think about possible matchups for players who are in the news.

If players like the ones above get action, maybe it is because they are willing to gamble, rather than steal.

Yes, my thinking is changing because of what I see, not what I feel.

Oh yeah, don't forget Buffalo's ONE DAY tournament (New Orleans 504-279-2137) at 3:00 pm today. Been getting lots of phone calls so we expect a good turnout, but you might be gambling if you come. :D :D

Post up any action Shorty gets into. I would love to hear how he is doing. I don't claim to know him personally but I have had the opportunity to play him on a few accasions in local handicapped tournaments.
