Top 3 best playing cues you have played.

These are my three all time favorites:

1) Predator 2K5 with pre-cat shafts
2) Schon Ltd 202 w/Jacoby Edge shafts
3) Ariel Carmelli Cues

Following close behind:

4) Tim Scruggs cues
5) Richard Harris Bluegrass cues
6) Keith Josey Sneaky Petes

Top 3 best playing cues you have played

1 James Hanshew
2 Jim Pierce
3 Abear
all of these play pretty sporty!

My Tim Scruggs.... any of them.
My Black Boar.... old school rocks
My Philippi 1 of 1.... it's had some serious "reworking" by Black Boar

Greg, are you playing with the Scruggs/Justis Case?

Wedge

Tascarella bumperless Hoppe. My everyday player.
Searing 1/2 joint
3rd is a pretty unknown cue maker out of Hattiesburg MS...Joe Ezell. Great playing cues!

I'll have to try a Kevin Varney too. I've heard many good things about his cues.

Hopefully Kevin will be back in the shop around the first week of October. You would not be disappointed!

Kevin Varney old growth rosewood from the 1970s, wrapless maple handle.

Mid or late 80s Southwest, Laurie told me it was one of the last made with the great Indian rosewood with maple points, no veneers.

My 1993 Dan Dishaw, figured maple, six ebony points with three veneers each at the time considered "a poor man's Southwest"

I'd have to consider my early/mid '70s Joss custom also, one of the few I sold that I'd like to have back.

This is a tough question because playability and hit are very different for me.

I play the best with a predator sport cue with a 314-2 shaft by a landslide.

The best hitting cue I have ever picked up is my Southwest "family cue" (built for someone in the family) six point cocobolo into a maple forearm.

I can not say that i've played with a lot of cues.

a couple of Mcdermott, a few J Peschauer, a couple of lucasi's

Nothing feels like my Palmer. Nothing.

That's funny. My Model M from the 2nd catalog has a hit like a length of galvanized pipe. I keep it mainly as a collectable because that's my name under the clear ring.

1. My Josey...my current and probably last player

2. Jacoby

3. McDermott

1. Hunter Classics - Wes Hunter

2. Scruggs

3. Schon - Early 80's made by Bob Runde

So it shoots good for you or no?

I'd love to see pics of it, especially with your name inside :)
