It would be great to have some reply to scheduling questions.

Website provides no info either, an it was a month ago that Mike R. told of additional stops that were close to booked.

That's disappointing, as Planet Pool had the best website of any tour at one time.

It is pretty disconcerting that the 10 events they said they had lined up aren't on the website yet. Andy Lincoln owns the site <not the tour> and, in my opinion, the tour owners just need to provide him the info and a little cash <perhaps from the tour fees we paid> so he can make updates as venues get scheduled and post results afterwards.

Andy always did a great job with posting brackets/results when the tour was going strong and I know it was well received by everyone and admired by other tours.

I don't know where the bottleneck is. Is it that all the poolhalls having the 32 people events just can't swing a 70-80 person 2 day commitment required by the tour? I don't know, but I'm curious also about what the deal is with the lack of information.

This is a great event

Ok. I have to comment now.

As a NOVA resident I was excited to see the Planet Pool Tour get launched again, but it hurts me to see that you seem to be killing your own tour before it can even get rolling again.

First, a $35 annual fee is ridiculous without a full schedule of events posted. This has been pointed out many times, but seems to be falling on deaf ears. I personally think a $35 annual fee is too much even if there was a full schedule posted. I know you want to make some money here, but it would be better to charge a one time $5 or $10 tour registration fee, then take the $1000 added for each event and put it in your pocket instead. I think players would rather just get all the entry fees back in the prize fund and not get ripped off on an "annual fee", then hope for a piece of a possible "$1000 added".

Second, communicate with your customers with something other than "This is a great event" and listen to the other good suggestions that have been posted here in the threads for both of your tournaments so far.

I really don't want to see this tour fail again, please turn it around before it is too late.

It really is sad and a total joke. The first problem is having someone like JAB running the tournaments. They ran the Blaze tour into the ground by taking too much money off the top and this is no different. The number NEVER added up in those events and this will be no different. Pool in Maryland really can blow up again and be prominent but not with something like this!

I got no awareness of what happened w/ Blaze, from any perspective, but I do hope Planet Pool Tour can return to something similar to its mid 2000s glory days. 100+ players at events, great statistics kept and accessable, points system with year end prizes...and tip repair on site(!!).

There are lots of events of late in the DC Metro area, so Planet Pool needs to be interested in building and maintaining a customer base if it wants long term success.

I think it is a bit early to assign failure to the system, but things do need to improve.

Wow. I was thinking about heading up to this since the tourney site is not far from where I grew up, but $35 annual fee seems a bit much for something where I'd only make it to this one event. As a suggestion, maybe offer a choice of annual fee for whole tour year or a one-time event registration fee.

I am 99% sure there is a 1-time option. $10 or $20, IIRC.

Great pool room. Right off the hi-way.

Don't be crazymon...c'mon out!

I think there is a one time fee

Also, there is supposed to be another 8 events. None of the other places they mentioned before are any further from North Carolina. :)

Planet Pool & Mike R

There is a one time fee to play a Planet Pool event of $20 that will be applied to your $35 annual fee if you play a second time. This was on the event info posted a few weeks ago on this forum on page 1.

Planet Pool does have close to 10 events already firmed up. We cannot release all dates or info yet because we (Jose and Mike R) are negotiating with the rooms regarding dates and added $. The good dates will go to the rooms that are good to the added $. Most players comprehend this..................

Drexeline PA is doing 2 events and hosting a Planet Pool event April 16-17
Top Hat has agreed to do 3 total events. I have just disclosed 6 dates to you (opener in Frederick). Be patient and let us firm up added $.

Also we are merging 2 data bases and systems into one web site. Andy's and Jose's are being worked on to improve the info on the web site. Be patient and be supportive. You catch more bees with honey...............At least with me you do.............

We are expecting a big field over 100 players in the Open and Ladies event. We have more tables so the delays should be reduced.
Come on out...........It is a great room...........
