I've just announced a big event I'm organizing in Shanghai, October 4th between Ralf Souquet and Angela Pan (Pan Xiao Ting).

Angela will get 5 frames start in a race to 15, alternate break. I think this format makes things pretty even.

Angela came 3rd in this year's world championships at her first attempt and is the current Asian Women's Champion. This is really a battle between to current top level players of the two sexes.

Who do you think will win?

btw: The event will be broadcast 3 days after on Friday night Prime time for 2 hours on Shanghai Sports Channel which should pull a lot of viewers.

Here's a pic!

So, obviously nobody has any real faith in her since she needs to be spotted 5 frames......

Well I have faith in her, but I don't think her or any of the women pros are as good as Ralf who has been in the World's top 5 rankings for years now.

5 seems like a big spot, but it's the same ration as a 2 spot race to 6. She'll have to play well to get to 10 and keep Ralf at 14 or below. He also has a lot of TV big event experience.

To Bruin: Keen observation my friend :D

I'm fairly sure that plenty of people in this forum wouldn't have a problem beating Souquet if they were spotted 5 frames out of 15.

So your title is a little misleading Colin.

Damn damn damn she is hot. Stop teasing me Colin.

If I were Ralf, there's NO WAY I'd win that match. He should dump, then ask her out to dinner! :D

Ice Angel?

BTW Colin, she's gotta change the nickname! too nice. Maybe Angel of death?

Well, 'Ice Angel' suits here. Looks very serious and cool when she plays. But Angel of Death would get a few headlines.

btw: In reference to another poster in this thread about the misleading title, of course if Angela wins 15-13 it doesn't mean shes the best. Really what I mean is it's a good long test between a top female and top male player. There haven't been a lot of match ups like this that people can use as comparisons.

I'd like to set it so Angela has a good chance. The point is to promote her and in so doing promote the game in China so we can have more and bigger events here in the future.

btw: I don't think many from this forum, even the fringe pros would go in as favorites with the bookmakers getting 5 start in a race to 15 against Ralf. It's common for him to beat semi-pros by 9-2 or similar scores in early stages of pro-event.

None of this matters, Colin. Can she cook good...does she clean and keep a neat home...does she do laundry...and I'll let you fill in the blanks on the remaining question or two. :D

Do u have a video clip of her playing pool Colin,i may not know her,but im interested to watch her video. To see her skills, etc.

So if u have any video clip of her playing pool, please send it here.

Thank You...

That's exactly what I was thinking. What will we know? That Ralf can beat this girl with a 5 game spot? Sorry dude, but your post should be filed in the "Dumbest Thread" category.

I think it is a great idea and will help pool. Now if you had $150K for the winner...

I agree with these 2 posters. If you what a true test make them play even up.

And if she wins we'll hear everyone say it was because she didn't play even up. It happens all the time.

Do I think she can win even up..no. But your title of the thread insinuates that this is the battle everyone has waited for..it is not...that won't happen until the two sexes go even up. (Which has been doen in the regional tours, like Joss, BTW.)
