Here is a recent acquisition from the original owner. This cue was purchased in 1975 directly from the Adam Cue Company. This cue was the top of the line model ever made by Adam cues, and man this thing is real busy!!

The cue was purchased with two original shafts, which are both still straight. The cue has the original Leather wrap, which is still in serviceable condition. Currently the cue is in about 85% original condition due to finish and expansion problems with the metal and plastic rings which is normal for cues from this time. Here are the photo's, this was really one hell of deal for $175.

Enjoy and have a great day

That's a very sweet cue stick indeed manwon, the inlay work in that cue stick is really something :), it kinda reminds me of the Helmsetter Hall Of Fame range of production cues, that are on the Billiard Warehouse website :) (Or they were, last time I was there)

For it's age, it still looks to be in great condition, are you gonna have any restoration work on the joint or silver rings or just leave it as it is? :)

Thank you for posting the pics buddy, very sweet cue stick and definitely a nice piece of art :)

Hello Willie, The major difference between this cue and the cues on the Billiard Warehouse Website is the materials. The inlays in this cue were not cut with a CNC, the Mother of Pearl inlays on this cue are real not plasitc like the new cues, and this cue is also a Full Splice Butt also unlike the new cues.

Below is a photo of the handle splicing technique used during this time frame. Chris Tate, has told me that in the past Palmer also used this technique to join forearms to handles.

Have a good night!!!!!!!

Craig,
Thats a beauty!
Please let let me know if you decide to sell it!

Thanks,
Jay.

Hey manwon :)

I know what you mean buddy, about the difference in inlay materials and the fact that the inlays in those days were all cut and inlaid by hand, which I imagine, would've been a heck of a task, especially with the intricate inlays in that little beauty, that you've snapped up :)

I don't know about you guys, but I believe that some of the older techniques for cue making are still the best and are a testament of time, skill and art :)

I wholeheartedly congradulate you on finding such a nice cue stick and it would be great if you got it restored, so that all the joints and rings are flush finished again :)

Beautiful cue from the old days.did you try to play with it?
Vass

Yes I did, and while it hit pretty good it made a few funny sounds. turns out the joint collar was loose, the cap was loose, and the leather wrap was coming loose. I have already started a restoration on this cue, I will post some photo's later when I am through.

Have a good day!!!

Thanks,

Sorry Jay, but I am going to keep this one, I have been trying to find one for years. Also since this is the Top of the Line model that Adamk ever produced, I would doubt that many were made in the first place, I mean this is only the second one I have seen in twenty years.

Have a good day!!!!!

If the bumper is missing, I have new old stock ones for it. they are the straight kind,as oposed to the mushroom style that was also used.
any way pm me an address if you need one or more of them.

Thanks allot for the pictures, I am truly Jealous and also for the offer for the bumpers. I do have the original bumper for the cue, and it is the straight type. I Have some other Adams cues from the same time frame, that I have put away. I will send some pictures some time.

You know Jay it is really a shame that cues like the ones we have pictured are not as collectible as the Palmer's. Other than being made in Japan they are truly as nice, in design and craftsmanship as anything Palmer ever made, if not even better.

Have a good night Jay, and thanks again!!!!!!

Manwon,

True, and in general they have held up as well as any cue their age, if not better.

All it takes is for the general interest to be peaked, and those could be the next big thing. They are certainly beautiful cues.

I think TATE did a lot in promoting Palmer's even further through his excellent website. This created a great interest and in return an even broader market for Palmer cues.

Perhaps if your collection of Adam cues is extensive enough, you could do something similar?

That really must have been one heck of a deal for $175! Very-very nice found, I truly am fond of it - it has many inlays and despite of that it still does not look slushy. Perfect balance in the design...

i need a bumper for a 1975 adam a/h cue

Manwon,

i have a cue that my grandfather played with for twenty years and then gave to me when he passed away.

it is basic compared to the cues you both have which are absolutely ultra-beautiful. the cue i have is in great condition, but i took the bumber out to check on the weight bolt system and somehow i lost the bumper. the bumper is a mushroom type, i was wondering if you have that style of bumper for sale or if you know of a supplier that wold have one.

please e-mail me at michaelkennedy_1@yahoo.com
or call me 727-277-9853

let me know, thanks
