Top Pros Use Multi- Layered Tips Or Single?

I know a lot of the top pros use Master's or Blue Diamond chalk. Very few if any seem to use the $30 chalk. Most play with whatever cue that sponsors them or what a cuemaker gives them to play with. It seems a good many of them play with some brand of low deflection shaft.

Besides the ones that are sponsored by a tip company, what do the others use...single or layered? Johnnyt

I was talking to Rodney Morris about a week ago and he told me he uses Triangle tips...said he didn't like laminated tips.

Don't post here much and I am a middle of the road type player, but I went back to Triangle after trying laminated tips. With the laminated tips it seemed like I got a 'new' tip every time I played. With the Triangle (and probably other non-lams) once they are broke in they play like the same tip each time you play. My 2 cents...

Efren cuts Elkmasters off of house cues...he likes them thin. Earl was using Moori Mediums (?) last I heard, but with his penchant for equipment no telling what he's using now. Jesse Engels was swearing by Kamui Black SS and talked quite a few pros into trying them. I've personally found that Kamui Black Soft settles in and requires almost no maintenance...and is consistent as anything I've ever tried and lasts quite a long while. I also like mild duds and Triangle mediums, too...but they tend to require a little more attention from me...

Anyone know what SVB uses?
