Tor’s 14 day experiment

BryanB, I see now that it was a team championship. Thanks for the info. But, in his defense, it's still the Master's.

I know they wouldn't have won APA MAsters league around here if they were slouches. You better be running out or playing jam up safeties by the time you get to playoffs.

Bryan, I'll be looking forward to your summary in regards to working with Tor. I think you're up directly before I am.

Yes, Tor will be here in 2 weeks but I will only have 7-9 days. 'm not a D player though :D

No kidding. All I ever hear about you is....winning. :)

I was there.......

That's Joshua Hornbeck from PA.

He just won the Pennsylvania Master's State Championship...tho, I'll be honest I'm not sure what league that is, if any.

He's DEFINITELY no "D" player.

He made the most improvement I've ever seen in a 14 day period. At the beginning of the video, I could have given him the 7B. By the end, he could have given me the 6.

I'm scheduled to be filmed/instructed by Tor starting April 15th.

I would honestly say that Joshua Hornbeck was no where near a master player at the start of this.

Real nice guy.

Tor is doing so many great things out there.

I drove to Oil City PA to be a part of this 14 days and spent a few hours with Joshua teaching him Perfect Aim.

I can't say enough good things about Tor. His dedication and passion for the game is unsurpassed by none.

To Tor and his Crew, keep up the good work.

Your doing so much to help the game we all love. . .

I don’t know if anyone else watches any of them.

So I’m watching Tor’s 14 day experiment. And there is this guy doing (the one with a wife and 3 kids and father who passed away, and they had a memorial tournament for him 2 weeks later (to give you the whom I’m talking about).

So during the interviewing he talks about tournaments (seemed local to me) with pay outs of 5 – 6000 $$$ for first place. Is there anywhere, I mean the pay out from the Joss event on the 8th was like $1200? It seems he might be quite off on how much money there is out there.

I’m just curious…

I have purchased the Zero X System and find it is working very well for me. I am going in for surgery on the 11th, and will need to take 2 weeks off from playing. I plan on doing the Zero X training to become a better/more consistent player. So I am a believer in the system and training for sure. I need to find out the best point to start (which I think is the stroke drill followed by the Automatic Aiming, with Perfect Aim via Gene Thanks Gene).

This is my original post. I wasn't trying to say anything negative about Tor or the student. I was asking about the money aspect of tournaments across the US. It seemed to me a bit of a high estimate but wanted to hear if I was really out of it (I took a few years away from pool and didn't know if it got better).

It's very high. Just follow the az main page on the news section they have the weekly reports of the regional events. They are usually in the neighborhood of 1000 for first place if they get a decent turnout. 10th place is usually about 80. They can even be 500 for first and 200 for second with a smaller turnout. This is for the Joss, Predator, Planet Pool, and Mezz.

Also, to win one of these takes an open level player.
